Main Event - Super 6 tourney....

Learnt today that SKY will be showing Dawson-Johnson & Pacquiao-Cotto.

 

I reckon this Tourny has come about too soon for the likes of Andre Ward & Andre Dirrell and to a certain extent AA , Both Americans have yet to step up to "World Class " Level and AA hasn't really grown into the 168lbs division yet , Jermain Taylor has been working real hard on his arcillies heal ( Stamina ) but can you really "Learn" stamina @ his age? Froch the gob shite will always be a threat to ANY of the above mentioned fighters what with his solid jaw , quality dig and never say die attitude but i really can't see anyone getting one over on Kessler , another thing that will become apparent during the course of the tourny is the winner will be the fighter who has consitantly campained @ world class level through out their entire career and thats why i'm tipping Kessler , and another thing his Super Six SHOULD have been a Super eight tourny with the inclusion of Sakio Bika from Down under along side Lucian Bute , i realise the distances involved for Bika but if he was included he could have based himself Stateside and got the coaching and quality of sparring that would have made anyone who faced him's task a tricky one .

My pick is Kessler based on level of experience and quality of opponents he has faced e.g. Beyer, Calzaghe.

However, I would love to see Froch go far in this tournament and fancy his chances over Dirrell.

We have the same problem about the TV coverage in the UK as you do in States.

The winner of Kessler/Ward will win the tournemant. Head says Kessler due to his quality of opposition but Ward has all the skills & I wouldn't be surprised at all if he beats Kessler, much to Ash's amusement.

I'm backing Dirrell to do well though. Hasn't faced any top opposition but has the tools if he can put it together then he will be dangerous.

 

You're not wrong about Main Event. They haven't been too good to us lately.

I emailed them to ask why they would show the UFC over a Mayweather fight and got some politically correct answer. The only thing that I could think of is that the Mayweather fight was rescheduled. I have to believe that so that I dont get mad about getting shafted for UFC

 

CHB :good, At the end of the day nobody can claim "Top Dog" @ 168lbs until they beat the winner of Bute v Andrade, In fact they should have put , Ward , Dirrell , Froch , Kessler , Taylor , AA , Bute , Andrade , Pavlik , Williams , Bika and Steglize name into a hat and drawn six fights out with the winners all facing each other in the next round until there were two left fighting in the final , THAT way we would have a true Undisputed World Champion again . all the marbles would have been on the table and all ABC's Unified .

 

Just saw the ad for the Mayweather fight again, they're showing it on Saturday now aswell. They must not have done too well if they're still selling it. Serves em right. They chose the UFC because it's more popular at the moment. Fair enough, thought they could make more money on the UFC. But it was a **** card, I doubt they did too well there too.

 

Another thing I noticed on the Mayweather-Marquez ad.

Marquez is listed as a WBA WORLD SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION.

LOL pretty funny since he's never fought a 140. Absolute joke how they get these things wrong.
