    147 or catchweight

Hatton looks like he balooned to 190 now, and his team has used the weight excuse for the Pac fight. They were even tempted to fight senchenko for his title.

You need some sort of power to keep Hatton off. JMM has no power to even bother him, Hatton will eiter walk straight through you or get KTFO, thats his style. I don't see JMM knocking out Hatton, it did take BIG and constant shots from Pac to floor him and that final shot would of KOed anyone from 147 down

It would be conventional wisdom that Hatton would start off fast and Marquez would start off slow. Due to the fact that Marquez has by FAR (light years ahead) the higher boxing IQ of the two, he would make whatever adjustments necessary and outsmart Hatton to a TOUGH victory. I don't think Hatton is capable of making adjustments. Hatton's skills have seriously deteriorated over the past couple of years on top of that.

i disagree to an extent....I think hatton's offense is still quite there....and marquez will never find the distance against a much better pressure fighter then diaz was in hatton....hatton smothers him....and wins a comfortable to wide, yes wide UD over marquez....in an ugly fight....

    freddie norwood anyone?

A catchweight sounds like it might make sense. The higher the catchweight, the worse for Marquez. And 190 huh? I guess Hatton feels it necessary to live up to his nickname...and I'm not referring to "The Hitman".

I'm a JMM fan but Hatton wins this at 140, JMM's limit is 135 and even then he dont look as good.

I don't see the point of this fight. Hatton fans (myself included) would say Hatton is a shot fighter and Marquez fans would say Marquez is a shot fighter. There's really no point for these two great fighters to square off with nothing much to gain.

JMM and Hatton are closer in height and reach than JMM and Mayweather.

Mayweather has a 5 inch reach advantage on Marquez... it's hard for Marquez to get anything off on Mayweather when he has to lean in on every punch and May can just stick his hand out there.

Anyway, I don't think Marquez was as slow as people made him out to be. Mayweather was just that much faster and that 5" reach was a HUGE advantage as well.

I'd give him a great chance against Hatton.

:yep:good Yes right on,hatton is to smart for hatton.Marquez did look slower but may had a lot to do with that. This would be tought for marquez at first but after the mid rounds its all marquez and marqueZ has more left in his tank than hatton, so late tko or 116-112 115-113 for marquez. He might not be a big puncher at 140 but he hits hard enough to keep hatton honest and hard enough to drop or stop hatton if gets caught.

I think hatton would pressure marquez then ko him in round 9 - 12 IMO.
