Wow. I wasn't sure there was even film off this one out there. Fuji is the easily accessable fight I would steer people towards to see this guy. He is a radar. My pick for #1 in this department.
I can't find it now on the web, only full Locche-Cervantes II from 1973 is available what I noticed. Hope that someone will upload that 1971 bout again.
YT had the last round or two of Locche-Cervantes I on a while back..Im sure of it..Cervantes was going all out for the KO and Nicolino was shutting him down. As for the whole fight...I dont know. A few more names.... Miguel Lora Miguel Canto Marlon Starling Hilario Zapata Sumbu Kalambay Pep from whats available Fidel Bassa
Kalambay and Canto are great picks Here is the Locche-Cervantes I 15th round: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LEKHMUCh8k&feature=related From what I remember, rest of the fight looked similar but with less acting performances by Nico. I Think that this last round could work as summary of this bout.
Too mnay greats ones to list Pea, Pep, Locche, PBF, Hopkins, Wright, Toney, RJJ, Ali, Calderon, Benitez
I wouldnt add Ali to this company. Young Ali was all about speed, dexterity and reflexes in defense. Older Ali was often getting hurt when those reflexes were gone.
I had heard his name before, but never took the time to look up any footage on him. Thanks for posting the link. Locche had some great head movement and counter punching in those vids
JMM can be a pure defensive counterpuncher when he wants to. Fernando Montiel is a also defensive minded boxer. Thats if you are asking about current fighters.
