The shoulders of a light heavyweight swinging two freakishly long arms. His nickname should be Tornado.
Plenty of other guys can fight inside & out, stay focused, are good ring generals, have good chin, movement, stamina. He's not special. He's just a very good fighter with the gift of high metabolism and easy weight loss.
Shopworn Wright? Honestly who wins if lets say happens next Wright vs Sturm? If you pick Wright then he can't be a shopworn old fighter right? You know i could say the same about Alexander beating a shopworn old Witter but i'm a Devon fan so yea damn lol.
It's called lateral movement. I bet Willie Pep was a ****ing bum who ran around the ring aswell was he? Oh, you wouldn't know, because you're clear lack of knowledge surrounding the sport means you probably don't even know who Willie Pep is.
Witter fought twice in 08', a SD loss to Bradley a top 140lbs'er. Wright on the other hand was out of the ring for almost two years, after being lured up to 170lbs to fight Hopkins, where he did not impress.
You didn't answer my question, if lets say Wright face Sturm next, who wins and why? If you pick Wright then how can he be a shopworn fighter? Did not impress? Who has ever look impressive vs Hopkins?
yeah except - those guys cant throw 1000+ punches a fight - fight with an 82 inch arm reach - fight with such punching variety - use such good foot work haha nobody is disagreeing with me
If he can still make 147 and be healthy, he can compete with anybody in one of boxings strongest divisions, and beat most of the top guys. He could probably clean house and unify at 154. He is the second best middleweight in the world, and has the balls to climb in with a ****ing beast, and try to claim the #1 spot. I'd say the above makes PWilly a "special fighter."
I don't see a clear winner in that fight, how is he not a shop worn fighter? Winky of years ago, when he was fighting actively and not chasing single, big paydays would've beaten Sturm en route to a wide wide decision. Winky is shop worn, he's old, he's not nearly as seasoned as someone with his style needs to be.
Why does an 82 inch reach make him special? It makes him a genetic freak, that's all. Guys like Calzaghe have thrown over 1000+ in a fight, I don't regard him as 'special'. Plenty of guys have great footwork, Cotto has great composite punching skills and I don't regard him as 'special'. He has the potential to go down in the history books if he can clear up from 147 to 160. Until then, he's just a very good fighter with potential. Let's face it, he's been outboxed by B- level Quintana, scraped past a Margarito who was obliterated by Mosley, and beat an old Winky.
IMO Williams throws too many punches. I guy overwhelming someone with volume is not good for the fans and can lead to punches simply hitting gloves. See margarito fight I personally had Williams by a point in that one but was surprised by the number of writers who had margarito winning Williams nuthugger Kevin Iole for one!
