Bryd is not a Heavyweight any longer...he's either moved down a division, or retired.
Holyfield, if he is still active, shouldn't be.

So as far as active heavyweights go, he was correct.

No mistake it was Klitschko ball sucking at its finest, in fact just after the Lewis fight and prior to the fight with Sanders I beleive, Merchant suddenly had family from the ukraine:roll:

After re-watching the JMM/PBF fight & then the following Klit/Arreola fight's last night...
I'm convinced HBO boxing commentary is slippin' into **** territory.
They have their heads up certain fighter's ass so deep they strike oil.
    (unbiased, Yeah right)

He doesn't have to. The way it was stated assumes PRESENT tense.

"The only heavyweights that I know of That Actually gain weight going into training camp"

To me, the way it was phrased "that actually gain weight", means he is talking about the present. He didn't say "The only heavyweights to ever gain weight going into training camp". He said "that actually gain weight".

Be careful of the master of the half truth, who will praise a man in five different ways before throwing a hidden remark which will nullify all those praises and undermine the man completely without you even realising.

yes, that doesn't change the present tense statement.

He said the only heavyweights, that he knows of, that put on weight.
He didn't say, the only heavyweights he knows of, to ever put on weight.

I'm certain he was referring to ACTIVE heavyweights, even if he didn't specifically say the word "active".

He didn't need to. By speaking the present sense he was implying activity. Had he said "Only heavyweights ever who have gained weight..." you'd have a point. Technically, as the language stands, you do not. :deal

Edit: You're already having this conversation with BD. That's what I get for only reading the first two posts. :yep Well, I have nothing else to contribute here.
