Mosley was stripped of his WBC Welterweight Interim Title for not putting it up against Cotto, when he faces Cotto for his WBA Welterweight Belt.
Now the WBC only recognizes maywhatever as wbc chump.
And this I do not understand, :wtf since maywhatever has not defended it ever, nor has he fought at 147 in over a year nor will he since he facing Hatton at 140!
How is he able to keep the belt?
Or as Teddy Altas says WBC "The We Be Charging"

Well, Mayweather is putting his WBC Belt up for grabs against Hatton. Mosley is not putting his WBC intermin belt up for grabs against Cotto.

Who really cares anymore, boxers are fighting for pride these days. The belts are just tokens like most of the champs.

mayweather is vacanting after Hatton... unless he signs with cotto or mosely winner. There is no way he should fight paul williams.. Skills pays the bills to some extent. Floyd will lose all his advantage fighting a giant welter.

I've been saying that for many years. Unfortunately they don't go away.

They've degraded the sport for so many years by diluting the signficance of what it means to be a champion.

When I hear people complain MMA is getting a lot more attention these days than boxing, you'd think it would be a great chance for boxing to look at this whole multiple belts bull**** and fix the problem. But, they won't.

Anyways, I doubt Mosley is losing any sleep over losing the WBC intern belt. It's all nonsense.

glad mosely didn't cough up to these bitches....

how in the hell will we ever get rid of this alpha bet bull****. Cause honestly its not like any of these organizations is going to accept going away because there all in it to make money. And boxings so international its not like there is a governing body that could just step in and say sorry you, you and you are know out of bussiness.

It hasn't been a year since Mayweather fought at 147. It will be over a year when he fights Hatton but it has been 10 1/2 months since he won the title. Plus he's fighting Hatton at 147 not 140.

It comes into my head why this ****i'n WBC declared Peter as an interim champ . . . so that they can charge their sanctioning fee on his next fight.

    I'll be DAMN. :-(

    Simply pathetic. :yep

For all intensive purposes, who cares about the belt? The fight's being made, and the two of them getting in the ring is the only thing that counts. But if you want to know...

INTERIM Champs are not allowed to unify belts, because they are not real world champions. The reason why they are interim is because they are keeping the seat warm until the actual champion finally fights him for the right to wear the real belt. For example, as I said in an earlier post, Katsidis can't unify with David Diaz because Katsidis is the WBO INTERIM champ. Juan Diaz is the real WBO champ, so he can unify. In essence it's saying that Katsidis can't unify because he has nothing to unify with. Which also means that he's only "sort of" world champion, but only within his own sanctioning body.

F--k the alphabet boys. And F--k GBP for buying Ring and shredding the last bastion of credibility in boxing.
