Now that Pavlik vs Williams is official

Pavlik has a total of 31 knock outs. Something like 28 of them happened at 160, or above 160, and they included 7 guys who had never been stopped.

At, or above, 160 Williams knocked out . . . . . . . Andy Kolle.

Paul Williams is getting knocked the **** out . . . . . period!

If PW fights a very smart fight, KP stops him in round 10-11. If PW gets stuck on stupid and tries to out gun Pavlik, it's over in 5 rounds or less.

 

I'm goin' for that "grey" area and takin' 7.

 

this actually creates kind of a problem for camp williams. kind of between a rock and a hard place. pwilly has always fought w/ his foot on the gas throwing in bunches w/o much regard for his d. but you can't really do that w/ pav. BUT, is the fight w/ pav really a good time for williams to try something new and fight out of his "comfort zone" which is the way he has always fought?

 

I would like to see Pavlik win this fight, but Paul Williams recently has looked great and I see him possibly KOing Pavlik late in the fight.

Well, Winky's gloves looked like 30 oz goose downs in the Pdub fight and he hit Pdub very flush and didn't make the bean pole blink. I know it isn't Kelly, but is Winky that shot?

 

Sturm, Gevor and Mundine. All on points. I don't think any of the three get flustered by the activity. Winky did OK until he figured out he could hit Pdub flush and not hurt him. Seemed to take the wind out of his old sails.

 

Look for Kelly to be fresh, well rested and wanting to make a statement to the boxing world.

 

This seems to come up from time to time, but let me ask this question. At what point could it have been stopped? Kelly was up on the three count and handled himself well enough and at the end of the round was throwing back. I really don't see any point after the knock down that would have been a non controversial point to stop the fight. Maybe I should go back and watch it again?
