I believe Roach, however it is also negotiating leverage. They need to forget about "life after Cotto" and focus on "life with Cotto for 36 minutes or less"

Retirement is a personal decision on Manny's part. Not Roach's. If Manny still wants to fight after the Cotto fight, Roach will be with him all the way. Roach is saying Manny's legacy is assured already.

Here is the thing. Manny's resume will not stand the test of time. Yes he is hot RIGHT now but he not as hot as Oscar was in the mid 1990's. When you Resume is full of aging fighters the way that Manny's is they dont stand the test of time. In the mid to late 1990's people were putting Oscar in the top 5 to 10 ATG. Now he doesnt break into anyones top 20. Too many aged fighters at the ends of the road..Just like Manny.

On the flipside Floyds Resume will actaully pick up steam ones he is gone from boxing..Alot of times its a matter of what a fighter did AFTER you beat him instead of what he did before you beat him. Its great to say that you beat 18 former champions like Oscar can, but its more impressive to say that you beat 12 guys that went on to win world titles Like Jones can...:good

Better worry about Cotto. Maybe Freddie isn't so worried about Cotto huh? When you pick a guy because "he's on the slide", maybe that's the case.

Freddie knows truly what will happen if Pac faces Floyd. It will ruin the image of Pac he has helped to build up by fighting some pretty worn down fighters, who only fight one stye (other than JMM who they could never convincingly beat).

If Floyd looked like he had lost something when he came back, Roach would jump on it. I don't blame him I guess. Pac is Freddie's fighter, but he's not fooling true boxing fans.

If he gets knocked out, then he gets a mammoth payday and respect for taking on the best. Not all that bad.

roach lives in his own world...he could careless what anybody thinks at this point....manny has accomplished a lot in boxing, along with being a national figure in the philippines......he is right to a degree, that manny doesnt need floyd.....but IMO it will be bad for the game if he doesnt face floyd.....it will prove dana white's point....

they are talking way too much about PBF and overlooking Cotto.

Cotto is going to fly under the radar and suprise some people.

he should fight a top level slick boxer first (afreecan ameericaan), then a power puncher like valero or a young gun like soto. then he can retire without much criticism

and still, awesome cotto is no joke and it is bs to overlook him.

My god your stupid...Of course Mosley is the most dangerous fighter on this list for Pac. He has the best chin of the bunch, the most power. . Not to mention if you look at who actaully voted on that poll you would find that thier were 13 *******s and another 17 KNOWN Floyd haters. Polls on this site are pretty useless.
