If he doesnt have any problems in prison he will actaully be out in July of 2010 with having spent just around a year locked up.

I wonder how much weight he will put on this time.

Last time when he did 2 years he was a welter coming in and left a juniormiddle.

He''ll prolly be a full middle now.

I am personally glad for james, i've followed him throughout his career, like his style and think he can bring something great to the 154lbs division. just hope he has wise people around to guide him, otherwise he could end up back inside. alll the best james!

He wasnt carrying a gun because he wanted to be 'hard'... he was carrying it because he had just gotten robbed at gun point i believe.

And i dont think he will be effective at middleweight, Jr Middle is where he belongs and the way he trains i think he will be able to get back to it...

They didn't reduce his sentence. The recommended sentence was up to 5 years (not 10), but his actual sentencing (which happened a couple weeks ago) was much lower than that, plus credit for time served.

I just dont see him at middle....

if Fernando Vargas can be out for a year, and come back to fight at 154, theres no reason Kirkland with all the intense training he does as well and being 5'9'' cant imo. He will probably have his first fight back at 160 or so, then fight a few months after that at 154.

He 50 lbs heavier already. He can't do no crazy **** in prison and he carries weight well so he prolly won't get that fat but put on muscle which is hard to lose.

I'm tellin you the guy ain't making 154 anymore. He had a hardtime as it was making 154.

interesting... i guess we will see. IMO he wont make it at middle... hes too small imo. But still.... Fernando Vargas had a bulged L-5 disc, partying like a mofo, balloons in weight and he was able to get back to 154 after fighting at 160 or so in the... marshal fight i think was at middle and then castillejo at 154 the next fight. but we will see... hope im right as id like for him to become king at 154.... Middleweight is Pavliks for as long as he is there and the class just isnt right for kirkland. Hell... kirkland will have his hands full with williams if/when williams moves back down, and theres unfinished buisness with Angulo.

But we will see... i didnt know he was having trouble making 54 as it is.
