You dont get to compete on even terms (1-1-1 vs the 3 amigo`s before any rematches) with Morales, Barrera & Marquez if you are one dimensional.

Sure, Pac added new things to his game as time went by but he lost some aggression too which was one of his best assets.

All you have to do is compare both Pac`s performances vs Marquez... the 1st fight was `1 dimensional` Pac & the 2nd was `complete` Pac....
JMM was just the same or a little worse physically in the 2nd fight & IMO he did a little better in the 2nd fight.

Granted... thats only 1 opponent but its factual & shows that there isnt this hugely different Pac (as in SO much better)

All I remember is that by the time he was fighting the 3rd Morales fight, Pacquiao had become adept at throwing the right hand. Listen to commentary in the first round of the fight. As Morales was coming in to land the jab of his front left hand, Pacquiao quickly countered it with a short right hook. Even Freddie Roach said that it was only at the David Diaz fight that he could see the complete evolution of Manny into a comprehensive and effective offensive machine.

He was 1 demensional brah. PAC was just operating with a **** load of talent and natural ability that was unmatched. His speed and power made it difficult to handle him. His speed was very deceptive and his explosivness caused many problems for guys who were far more skilled and capable in the ring. What Manny was able to do was pretty amazing to say the least considering how raw and unpolished he was. That's why so many people are STILL having a hard time giving him credit b/c they can't wrap their heads around what PAC has done....which is defy logic. He's been getting better with each fight....But MAB had really no idea or what to expect with that version of PAC. He could have very well underestimated him and got caught off gurad as JMM did in the first fight with PAC.

Who voted "no"? Pacman clearly was not even close to the fighter that he is today.

in a way, 'incomplete' pac fought and beaten 'close to his prime' barrera, got decisioned by 'past prime' morales in a fight where the mexican great gave his all, and flattened marquez 3 times in 1 round. the scary thing is pac is still learning.

Haha, for a while there I thought this would turn out to be a basketball thread.

Whether Pac was one-dimensional or not when he fought MAB, EM, and JMM, he still handed them very tough fights. I don't think anybody could have presented the same amount of trouble to these mexican greats at those times and weight classes. Do I think Pac was one-dimensional back then? Probably he was. I think Pac was already brilliant at the time, otherwise he wouldn't have faired well against these guys. But had he moved and fought the way he does now against EM and JMM back then, he would have faired a lot better. With the exception of the 1st MAB fight where I thought the aggresiveness he showed was what was exactly needed to stop MAB.
