I've seen him spar Andre Ward and Nick Diaz. According to what I've seen, he's the real deal.

Are you being serious? I honestly can't tell. As you mentioned, the kid is 19 YEARS OLD!!! Most fighters are barely going pro at 19. He's at least 2 years younger than every single guy you had on your initial list. And he didn't have an amateur career, so he's learning on the job.

When you consider his age, the fact that he's fighting and whooping on solid C level fighters is pretty impressive, and he's been consistently showing improvement from fight to fight, unlike a certain legend's son.

Someone mentioned Mike Jones (was it you?) - he JUST fought Larry Mosley. Alvarez pretty much shut him out when he was only an 18 year old. And while he's not fighting big names, he is fighting legitimate welterweights, all of whom have pretty decent records, and a couple of whom have some pretty decent wins of their own.

Is he really the best the Philippines has to offer? I've been on the Sonsona train for a while now, but after watching the two Pinoy Power cards, I wasn't super impressed with Francisco or Melligan.

actually drian just proved it today. Hes a showoff like hamed, and his accurate yet awkward punching is what you have to watch out for. He nailed vasquez with that nasty right straight, although we can say that vasquez is not in his prime anymore and just moved on a higher division he has no part of
