I don't really see Dirrell getting all that much hype. He has the worst odds to win the tournament and he's a decided underdog against Froch. Unless you want everyone to say he's a bum with no shot of winning, I don't see how he's getting too much hype. The same people that are complaining that Dirrell is being overrated will turn around and complain that Froch isn't getting enough credit for the win should he beat Dirrell.
He's getting hype from a few including myself because of his talent. Not proven yet, but the talent has been there for all to see. I think his problem has been his lack of focus at times but it shouldn't be a problem when he finally faces some top opposition. We already know what all these other guys can do including Froch but we don't know if Dirrell can come up with the goods.
I never thought he was hyped up, if anything you make an argument that Froch is more hyped up than Dirrel.
froch is the truth in every sense and prior to Taylor, most american fans never watched anything of him. his previous fights make exciting viewing and i believe he will be in the most exciting fights in this tv show.
The same amount he is getting hyped up in the UK? Probably less hyped up than Pac is getting in the Phillipines, deservedly.
Yeah, he'd get more play in the American press and probably have an HBO contract. Although, I don't get why people spend so much time feigning indignation and consternation about American networks and the American media try to push American fighters over with their core American audience as if most people around the world aren't partial to their countrymen. But anyway, back to Haye. If he were American, he'd also have even more people shitting all over him at every opportunity. The notion that American fans aren't extremely critical of American fighters is laughable to me. As far as Dirrell is concerned, I only see a few people saying that he may present a stylistic problem for Froch. Most seem to be betting on a Froch KO. Going back to what Big Reg wrote in this thread, I hope, for the sake of logical consistency, that no one who's here claiming that Dirrell is grossly overrated is going to bother giving Froch any credit should he win.
former olympian, good athlete, punch like a mule, undefeated,in fact i see a smw mike tyson lol until he goes on to be beat within an inch of his sanity and then we can label him overrated and useless! will they never learn? hanshaw had him on ***** street at one point.
I think he looks a very skilled boxer, great jab with both hands, immense hand and foot speed, I have doubts about his power but he more than makes up for that with sheer volume of punches thrown. His chin could be suspect as well from what I've seen of him. I'm a big Froch fan and he will have all my support behind him for this tournament but Froch has more limitations in his game than Dirrell. I think this is a 50/50 fight, Froch will take a lot a shots but he has a good chin and if Dirrell gets careless, one punch from Carl might end the night for him.
Bocause he is damn imperessvive boxer. both Andres are pretty damn good boxxers, but i am not seen dirler so hyped up?:huh but so is Froch , Garry Froch is realy bad guy and if Froh win tis we cold tink he wins te touranemnt!:think
r.e beatle. lol this forum in your analysis of hanshaw you have name checked ali, jones and leonard lol sense of perspective anyone? if that doesnt prove the threads point what does? froch:the new tyson, liston and shavers.
he has a lot of skills you just can't teach...and a lot of his flaws such as poor balance and defense you can teach. he has a lot of upside. if he can somehow patch up that d, stay balanced and actually be disciplined enough to stick to the gameplan against froch, its not out of the realm of possibility to get a points win given froch's flaws. he very well may sparked the **** cold but hey, crazier things have happened.
