Right now Pac and Cotto are fighting each other in mid november, Mosley and Floyd can fight in dec, and the winners can face off in May or june, No matter what if Floyd doesnt fight in December the Pac or Cotto fight wont happen til atleast May of next year....

So why wait? or is Floyd afraid of risking a loss before a big money fight to face the winner?:think

I think it dependson how you view Margrito.
    1. He is a cheeter and all his wins should be null and void. Therefore Mosley's win over him should not be taken into acount.
    or
    2. Mosley beat Margrito who for all intent ant popurose brought wepoens into the ring making Mosly's win more impresive.

I think the truth lays somewhre inbetween.

Its kind of hard to cheat in Vegas when they supply the gauze and tape kid, so we know Margarito beat Cotto fair and square.....

Mosley had trouble with a shot Mayorga and took 12 whole rounds to finish him. Way past prime Oscar crushed him in 6 with a fresher Mayorga and we see where he ended up.
I think the next fight with whoever Mosley faces will expose him as being shot. Slow as fuk Margarito was awful without his wraps and his style was perfect for Shane. Once shane fights a fresh and semi quick fighter, he'll be thoroughly outclassed.

as a shane fan, i could not resist to post on a thread having to do with my favorite fighter.

Mosley has been campaigning between 147 and 154 for the last two 10 years combined right.

When he jumped up to 147 he fought the following opponents:

Wilfredo Rivera, Willy Wise, Antonio Diaz, Shannon Taylor - All of them are B fighters which he KO'd. This legitimized him as a TRUE welterweight by fighiting welterweights after leaving 135. Unlike Floyd.

He lost to Vernon Forrest i think one year after beating Oscar. But inbetween this time it was undisputed that Shane was KING of the welterweight division.

Shane had a few fights at 154, some impressive some not, but in any case, he only lost to WINKY WRIGHT, a REAL true middleweight. Not a blown up middleweight like when floyd fought oscar de la hoya. (floyds multi division titles are so padded)

When he came back down to 147, his former stomping grounds, He destroyed margarito, outclassed luis collazo and lost a close decision to cotto. So he beat two of the other champions and lost to one other, but his lost to cotto is unclear as to how a rematch would go. Considering that shane was competitive at 154. its fair to say that by default he is the # 1 welterweight and, that in my opinion cotto sb number 2, not floyd. Cotto and shane should have a rematch to have teh clear title of who the welterweight king is, and the perception is that shane CAN win the rematch.

People need to stop talking about Paul Williams, can he still make 147? A guy with the body frame of an NBA shooting guard? he is no longer fighting there so lets leave him out of the picture.

I think clottey sb obvioulsy number 3. i am not saying that shane and cotto would beat clottey head to head. the problem is that clottey, although fundamentally very sound, never makes a statement when he fights.

i think once shane is done chasing floyd, if he cant get the rematch with cotto then he should have no choice but to fight clottey.

if paq beats cotto, then it will make clottey and shane look very bad.

I disagree, I hear what your saying about Mayorga, and How Oscar was able to get him out of there and Shane had to work for it, but lets be a bit more real.

Mayorga walked in on Oscar with no respect and got tagged early cus of it, the fight was over from there, he learned from that and when he fought Mosley he didnt just waltz over to him he was boxing a bit, he showed mosley more respect than he did DLH and thats the difference between both fights IMO with Oscar Mayorga had the Latinas gone crazy **** going....

Have you seen that since? with shane? No Sir Mayorga knew he had to respect if he wanted to win

I can see your point...but the way they hid the paddings in the wraps...**** they didn't get caught untillthey were forced to remove them, then by chance the padding fell out

Against either Cotto or Mayweather I'd favor Mosley. But I think Mayweather has the tools to beat him. I don't think Cotto could beat him twice in a row, I think honestly the fight was very close and I actually thought Mosley won that fight.

Huh? Bigger fight Cotto and Pac?

Forget that. Floyd vs Mosley is the fight that needs to be made asap. It should be Floyd's next fight.

That was in Los Angeles and not in Vegas, California is known to have a bad comission, look all I am saying is I do not beleive he cheated his entire career, and lets also get this straight, I know people here want to find a reason that Miguel lost, an excuse to shed light on why Miguel was beaten up that badly.
He fought the wrong fight, he used all of his legs early in the fight, so by the time the 2nd half came When Margarito steps it up, his legs where not there when he needed them

look at the mosley fight, he knew Tony was a slow starter so what he did in the first half was turn Margarito and fire a hard right hand over and over and over, by the time the sixth came around the damage was done, and a few rounds later so was Margarito..:good

Tony did not cheat in the Cotto fight, I know its hard to accept Cotto lost to him but you have to, becuase he did.

I never said he's been doing it his entire carear but why would he just now start doing this in a fight of that magnitude. At the time they were my two favorite fighters so it wasn't that difficult to face. I understand Cotto did fight the wrong fight but that doesn't make Margo any less of a cheater. That hurts more to me than any fighter getting his ass beat down.
