Jermain Taylor ends up in the finals of the super 6

Taylor can't afford to make a mistake.

 

Taylor or AA? I don`t waste my time to think about. Wilfried Sauerland makes the decision who wins!!!!

 

Taylor could get knocked out again. We will see.

 

JT says it himself and I believe him. In his losses it wasn't the other guy beating him, its JT beating himself. I really think people will be surprised with how he performs in this tournament, win or lose if he can learn from his mistakes.

 

Taylor has the best chance out of all the Americans in this Tournament. He is an excellent boxer.

 

You gotta give Taylor credit. People were ready to throw Taylor under the bus after his two loses to Pavlik and then Froch. Cant say Taylor is dodging top ranked opponents. Taylor returns after losing a close fight to Froch to fight Abraham. Not bad. Win or lose Taylor has made me a fan of his.

 

I agree with Taylor to some extent. The trouble is that his 'mistake' is lacking the stamina to fight his style in a twelve round fight. It's a problem when you have a 31 year old experienced fighter and make statements like 'if he can learn from his mistakes'. If they haven't by that time they probably aren't going to.

 

It isn't likely. He has gotten progressively worse for several years so why should he turn it around now? He has the offensive tools to give anyone a good fight but lacks the mental strength to train and fight hard enough to win over 12 rounds.

I agree with the bold. Taylor hasn't really impressed me since the second fight with Hopkins and I don't think has really improved much as a fighter. The only helps to Taylor is that he has only really benefited from good match making to stay on top (what I mean by good match making .. Ouma, Spinks (okay maybe not that fight was dreadful to watch, and a shot Lacy - which allowed Taylor to get the shot at Froch in the first place)

anyway as for JT "beating himself" you could say that .. but it was Pavlik and Froch landing punches (notice how Taylor has gassed in previous fights vs Ouma and Hopkins yet the opponents couldn't close the show)

way too premature to think Jermain can make the finals. He does have the experience necessary, but I don't think he's mentally tough enough to overcome beating himself.

I give Taylor a shot in this tournemant and is definitely a bit underestimated by many. I think a lot of the fights will be close and can go either way which makes this tournemant awesome. I wish they would have one for every division.

I'm hoping Froch wins because 1. He's funny 2. he's exciting and agressive and 3. He knocks guys out.

I know he's english but I won't hold that against him. Come on Froch!!!!!

 

We don't know if JT will give AA a fight. So what JT has some so-called advantage in height and reach lol... He can't fiht inside, and he does not throw body punches. JT is an arm puncher, and AA destroys arm punchers. JT will be knocked out in this fight.

 

If you sit down and analyze skills, physical attributes, experience, et, on paper, you'll see that Jermain Taylor is the best and most proven fighter in the tourney. However, if you use logic to determine the outcome of a Jermain Taylor fight, you will probably end up disappointed!

I do like some of the things JT is doing now. He's reportedly doing more roadwork and mixing wind sprints with distance. He has a whole new weight lifting and strength training program, and I'm hoping that gets rid of some of the unnecessary bulk around his chest and shoulders while adding to his legs. He also has a completely new nutritional program.

I just don't see it although I'm picking him to beat Abraham.

 

I don't thik he''ll win but he has good chances to make it to the finals.

If the final are considered the final 4 in the second part of the tourney.
