Prime Tony Ayala vs Prime Vargas

Ayala with or without heroin? Seriously Ayala was a badass, the sky was the limit for him. Unfortunately his criminal history derailed all of it. I like Vargas as well, this fight could have been a great one.

 

Ayala never got past the prospect stage, before he was correctly identified as a low life scum bag ****** , and put in a cage. The prime Vargas, probably the version that soudly beat Quartey, would outclass the club fighting sodomite, and put an end to the Ayala myth before the tenth round.

 

Ayala would maim Vargas. Vargas only LOOKS impressive outside the ring but once you see him fight, he's nothing. He can't fight.

Which is really a shame because I like Fernando who is a very intelligent man. But he's no fighter.

Tony Ayala on the other hand is the genuine article, a killer and to be frank, I pity the man who crosses his path. He would not beat but MAIM Ferando like I said.

Ayala's rep has grown beyond his actual accomplishments in the ring. His incarceration has lent a myth like quality to his career, much like Ike Ibeabuchi. People saw some good things early and then wonder "what might have been". The big difference between the two is that Ike holds wins over Byrd and Tua, while Ayala has no similar wins on his record.

I'd take Prime Vargas to win this one.

It's not a stupid question. Let me just say that I do admire Fernando for his courage but aginst Tony I would fear for his safety.

Ayala was aptly named the bull. That's just what he was-a bull, goring everything in his path. And Fernando knowing the way he fights would not be able to get out of the way. Tony was his superior, I know he was. So it would just be a matter of time before Tony overwhelmed and overpowered him.

Facing patient boxers like Quartey was a lot safer than the likes of Tony. All he had to do was get past his jab but with Tony, it would be more a matter of fighting for his life

 

I agree that Ayala would win this fight,but your crazy to say that vargas cant fight and was no fighter. You know id put him even money against your boy Terry Norris and im not trying to **** you off,i could easily see Vargas weatherin norris storm and superior speed and get to that glass jaw. Norris had better skills than Vargas but vargas heart (yes even better chin) and he wasnt to shabby in the skills department and hit hard enough to knock out Norris.

 

Ok back to the thread. Vargas actually comes out fighting smart warned to not get macho with ayala like he did tito, so Vargas boxes carefully and actually wins 2 of the first 3 round, but vargas throws that out and starts fighting tonys fight in the 4th and gets dropped hard barely making it out. Ayala storms out in the 5th and Vargas gets on his bike using his underrated footwork and boxing ability to clear his head but still loses the round. Vargas starts the 6 th boxing well doing what he did in the first 3 rounds,wins the 6th. 7th is a close one with tony bulling in but also matching vargas with his underrated boxing skills. Torito picks it up in the 8 th and this is a round of the year canditate,but towards the end torito hurts vargas bad and drops him again,Vargas saved by the bell. Torito finishes the job in the 9th with a brutal knockout hes ahead by 2 and 3 points on the scorecards,his power and pressure is the differance.

 

Fernando would win this one either by late TKO or by unanimous decision.
