Are you guys sure about this? If this is true, it looks like Oquendo finally got some sense into him by not wanting to keep his word of " beating Solis " or maybe now he is getting back at him for when Solis pulled out months ago against Oquendo. One thing is for sure, it looks like Heavyweights don't want to fight the Cuban Olympic Gold medalist and 3 time World Champion Solis. HMMM, why? If Solis is so out of shape like people say, then why not fight Solis? Because Solis is no joke even out of shape he is incredibly gifted and telented like no other HV out there. I sure hope they get someone worthy for him for Saturday but how can they get someone for him that fast in just 3 days? Forget Johnson, he got his head together and pulled out from the Solis bout for his own good and I really know that he ain't coming back to fight the Cuban. :bart DAMM!!! I was really looking forward for this fight even more than watching Gamboa!!! :yikes

I just read the article, this Oquendo guy is really full of it in saying that nobody has ever really beaten him convincingly, David Tua KO'ed him nasty style!!! Is that convincingly Mr. Oquendo? He must be delirious in thinking that he will expose Solis, keep dreaming...Fight Solis now or regret it later as Solis has bigger and better names to fight in his bright future...:nono

"Oquendo contacted FightHype on Monday evening to discuss matters and to let the fans know that he’s doing his best to resolve the issue so he can still fight." So it's open.

That must be some serious legal trouble if he can't just send a representative (or he could just be testifying, but they probably would've mentioned it if the legal trouble didn't involve him).

This is definitely the year of the cancelled/postponed fight.

Kid Chocolate - I'm sure Oquendo wants this fight; he's bordering on irrelevancy so anything to put him back in the mix, I'm sure, is good by him. But, yeah, nothing controversial about the Tua stoppage - Fres dropped the ball there.

Oh for Chrissakes... Solis is one unlucky dude, first he's injured, then Johnson pulls out to get a million dollar beating from Vitali then Oquendo pulls out... Ever since Gamboa and Odlanier teamed up with Top Rank things slowed down, unfortunate events happened, there's less publicity and they are appearing on smalltime PPVs outside of the Miami fanbase - it's just not right. :-(

Solis just can't get an opponent at the moment.
