    Will you take it as
1 Floyd now taking on real challenges
2 Floyd still basically taking least risk

We'll take it as Floyd not wanting to make big money...

a very very very boring fight, but an easy one for floyd IMO... even at 154 this is a lesser risk than all the fights he is being offered at 147

Fighting Spinks at this point in Mayweather's career would be a devastating blow to his legacy.

It's a poll now, I take option 2. Corey Spinks is a light middle, but he couldn't crack an egg if he tried kickin it. Floyd needs to take on the top welters if he wants to be taken seriously by the people on to his business strategies regarding his career.

Floyd fighting Spinks is not a bad idea or fight. It is...imo a financial disaster since Floyd was part of a ppv which sold 1 million ppv buys. It could be looked at as a stay busy fight for Floyd until he fights one of the bigger names also.

    This won't happen.

Now it's an easy/low-risk fight, since Cory's legs are gone. A few years ago, different story.

**** no its not a risk. First off Spinks doesnt have the legs or speed like he used to and struggles to even get TV dates because noboddy wants to see him. Secound off when has Spinks ever been a dream fight ? Everyone has been crying for Cotto or Mosley or Pacquiao for years and Spinks sure as **** was never mentioned. I expect him to fight Spinks or Berto if lighting strikes Mosley.

Well if Floyd acts true to recent form he'd fight Spinks in his next bout.

I think he'd opt to retire again if a fight with Pacquiao becomes an impossibility rather than face the top welterweights in Mosley, Cotto, Williams, hell maybe even Clottey and Cintron. The last time he faced a welterweight who can hurt him in Judah he faced too much risk, so I guess there'd be no more of that in his future.

Not if HBO can help it. They've invested heavily in him, especially this last fight and it panned out huge. Who was to say then that a Floyd-Marquez fight would crack a million buys?

If marketed the same way to the mainstream public, Floyd-Spinks should get northwards of 800K buys. These are both American boxers, and if they get them on a major late night talkshow and do the teasers in fastfood chains like they did last time HBO can afford to pay Floydthe kind of moneyhe says he is only after.

Personally I would love to see that fight. Two great defensive fighters and tacticians. Some would say it would be boring...maybe. But I would like to see Floyd against big and slick fighter like Spinks

Marketing...Spinks is quite big name for boxing. I'm sure HBO would have some ideas to sell the fight
