You're a long time member of ESB, so you may recall that NO ONE called Pavlik/Taylor II correctly. Nearly everyone thought we would see a slightly shorter, less dramatic, version of the first fight. We nearly all agreed Pavlik had to have another KO, because there was no way in hell he could win a decision over Jermain Taylor. Food for thought:think
I really don't care if under your screen name it says newbie, addict or champion...If you actually believe that Pavlik is going to steamroll Williams, you need to have your credentials, if you have any, revoked. No chance Pavlik Ko's Williams. He is far too limited and has show that he cannot adapt. He fights one way, always. Williams on the other hand is a versatile fighter who has great speed, good power and excellent movement. All Pavlik has is power. When that fails he's up ****'s creek.
Since 2005 Williams has gone the distance in 5 fights. Pavlik has done it twice. The second Taylor fight and the Hopkins fight. The difference is Kellys opponents were legit M.W.'s. While Williams are legit W.W.'s. Theres considerable difference in going the distance vs a M.W. and W.W. IMO this seems like a very noteworthy obstacle that Williams will have to overcome and that is to be the first W.W. to go the whole distance with him and win it for that matter. Very big feat.
Sorry, but Pavlik barely won that decision. I've seen the fight two or three times and I still think it's a draw. I also know that Taylor landed more punches that Pavlik in that fight. I also do not agree that no one gave Pavlik a chance to win a decision. That was due to the simple fact that everyone thought he'd knock Taylor out again...which he didn't.
Right now the round 7-9 prediction is leading the poll. That lines up well with KP's history. He scored some good KO's in rounds 7-8, and only two middleweights have made it into round 9; neither answered the bell for round 10. I'm basing my early KO prediction on the fact that Williams is obsessed with knocking Pavlik out, and George Peterson is delusional.
williams might win the early rounds but just like in the Taylor fight Pavlik will beat williams down for a late KO.
Pavlik is being underestimated since his loss to B Hopkins. He is the first to expose both J Taylor and Miranda, even though in Taylor's case "exposed" might be a strong word.
Pavlik KO 7. I find it odd that boxing fans aren't taking into account the fact that Williams is not a MW and has never fought a top MW, especially one with big power. I'm a fan, but he has his work cut out for him. He's won all his fights due to his overwhelming size advantage. That won't exist with Pavlik. And if Williams questionable defense lets him down, he won't be dealing with shots from a WW or even a JMW. Pavlik will put him to sleep.
pavlik knocks out this chump in the 2nd round. willimas will try to push on him and in doing so pavlik will hit him harder than he has ever felt in his whole career. this is a statement fight for pavlik.
Williams has a horrendous connect percentage. He arm punches half of his shots and leaves his chin in the process.
Thats what you call wishfull thinking!!! The same people thought that Paul Williams would have lost to Margarito and are the same People who didn't know that BHop would DESTROY Pavlik!!!!!
