Marciano would break Hopkins arms. Bernard would be afraid to throw a punch.

Oh really dick for brains? Many people claim he lost to Taylor through emaciation not to mention how quickly he grew into 175's frame.

but you wouldn't know that would you?

So? Just because he grew out of 160 after years of dominating there doesn't mean his prime weight was 175 instead. It's like me claiming Erik Morales was better at 135 than 122, just because after time he out-grew the weight. Not to mention he actually made 156 a year prior to moving up. And not to mention that he usual fights at a 170 catchweight now and has never weighed in over 174 since moving up.

He was in his late 30's when that fight happened. If we're talking about a prime Hopkins, his optimal weight was 160lbs.

Sarah, I have to agree that Hopkins best work came at 160 and it was during his reign at middleweight champ when he was in his prime... Age and the slowing down of his metabolism meant 160 was draining him by the time of the Taylor fights, so this is NOT 5 pounds above his best weight.

Just pick a winner guys; I was evening the playing field. If you're going to nit pick my thread go give me an exact count of the number of stars in the sky because that, like *my* thread, is subjective to what you see.

Alternatively make another similar thread for Hopkins 160 and Marciano 185. I think we all know who'd win that one........
