Shane Mosley has only beaten ONE WW in the top 5 in the last 5 years!

Nevertheless... much to many people has an almost blinded hate for floyd.... Sometimes his opponent is questionable, but thats the case with every fighter..... But for him not cleaning out the 140 or not choose to fight every contender isnt reason enough for to hate the guy. Gatti was the peoples champion and the biggest reason, he was the WBC champ which floyd insist on being the true belt, therefore he has allways opted that way.

But the worst part about this hating floyd circus is that floyd is without doubt the best boxer we have seen for many years. Not since a prime roy jones has such speciel talent been seen. Maybe he isnt a KO artist like Roy in his best days but floyd is without doubt the slickest fighter ever, and also has some beutiful offensive skills... He is the pure idea of what the sweet science is and i believe that we all should enjoy the years left we have with the pretty boy.

I really believe floyd is back to do what we all hope him to do. Starting with the winner off pac and cotto... after that im sure he will take on the shane if he still is the WW champ after he fights hopefully jan/feb.

I hate people making excuses for the hatton fight. WW was floyds 4th weight and hattons 2nd. On the night floyd weighed bout 147 and hatton weighed roughly 152. Oscar was 2 weights heavier by the time they were in the ring. Floyd came in the ring at 147 or 148, basically a WW, and oscar was at least 160, a MW. And if floyd had of fought hatton at 140 he wud have still beat him probably even quicker. Floyd at 140 may not have cleaned out the division but he was a beast. He gave gatti(R.I.P) the worst beating of his life and gatti was WBC WW champ and on a hot streak. He wud of did to hatton wat he did to gatti.

I dont make excuses for anyone. Its a fact that Floyd fought Hatton
out of his natural weight class. I still think Floyd wins this fight, but
why does he always leave a doubt.

Lol floyd isn't scared of mosley..he tried to fight him in 2006...i remember the espn where floyd said he wanted mosley in november and than he wanteed his boss in may or some ****..if cotto wins against pac i think floyd might give him the shot he deserves...

 

doubt in whose mind?? Ricky Hatton was trying to get floyds status of P4P #1.. why the **** would floyd come down in weight when Hatton is challenging him?? When Floyd wanted Oscar he went up in weight to get him.

Hatton wanted Floyd so he moved up in weight to fight him.. thats exactly how it should have played out.

 

I think what Mosley did after Mayweathers fight with Marquez was in bad taste. Mayweather vs. Mosley fight would be fun to watch and I would probubly pay to see it, however Mosley did not do himself any favors. Right now all Shane brings to the table is a WBA title, which only means higher sanctioning fees, and a number 4 or 5 pound for pound rating. At this point in his career Floyd could care less about titles and belts, because he would bring more credibility to them than they would to him. I agree with people who say Mayweathers opponents are hand picked, because he has been picking the highest level of opposition that will generate the biggest payday. Numbers do not lie, in his last three fights he has generated $300 million in revenue. What has Shane done? In my opinion Floyd does not need to duck or dodge anyone at 147lbs because outside of maybe Paul Williams no one would stand a chance. Mayweather has proved himself multiple times and some people still refuse to give him the praise that is due. You can love him or hate him but that does not matter to Floyd because either way it sells tickets and payperviews.

 

I agree, Floyd was holding the cards and was challenged. The poster of this thread seems to think Floyd went down and fought him. Not true.

And than people want to say he would have done the same thing at 140 to Hatton. Yes, more than likely. But we will never surely know.

I just want to see him fight some of the real welters. He would gain much more by doing just that. Dude has mad money already, and will make good money fighting anyone at this point.

Mosley's the number 1 welterweight and he's willing to fight the best there it, you have to give him respect for that. I'm not happy with what will be a year of inactivity but a Berto fight is unification and is better than a Clottey fight, it's 2nd best to a Mayweather and Cotto fight.

 

You can spin the happenings anyway you want.....bottom line is that Mosley has never outright ducked anyone in his life.

......my goodness.....DLH, Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, Fernando Vargas, ......all of them he fought twice......a fight with Trinidad had already been targeted but it was derailed when Winky beat Trinidad......
.....Shane has taken on all comers of which includes the fighter that Mayweather shamelessly ducked, Antonio Margarito.
.....add another tough SOB in Miguel Cotto to the list Mosley has taken on.

......sorry buddy, but resume's of the caliber of opposition that Shane Mosely has taken on, are very few and far between in this day of boxing.
Floyd Mayweather's caliber of opposition is nowhere near that of Mosley, and you can take that all the way to the bank as a solid fact!

All crappola......at this point Mayweather wanted either DLH or Mosley to fight for the fall of 2006........

When asked after Mosley had just knocked out Vargas in their rematch, he stated outright he was'nt looking to fight in the fall, but was open to fight Mayweather early in 2007.........

......what happened after that is that Mayweather landed a fight with DLH at 154 lbs instead.

.....Mosley is part of and is promoted by DLH's GBP, so who do you think is going to get preference if say both DLH and Shane want to fight the same fighter?????

........its what happened here......Mosley had said he was more than willing to fight Mayweather early 2007, but just as luck would have it, his boss DLH beat him to the punch and landed the fight for himself.

For Mayweather, the DLH fight and not the Mosley fight was his first choice, so if you want to be tecnhical about the matter it can be said that it was Mayweather who ducked Mosley way back to 2007 and not the other way around!:hey:deal
