Why should Mayweather look for Mosley when Mayweather is arguably the #1 fighter in the world and has potentially bigger fights ahead of him? ... Mayweather is in the position to choose who he should fight ... and I think that with these guys fighting for a shot at either him or Pacquiao should make for some interesting drama in boxing.

 

Margarito was the longest reigning wbo champion in which he didn't want to be striped. He try everything he can to keep the title so he can fight Cotto for the unification ww championship. And it does matter, if Williams wasn't the mandatory, Margarito would be saying like Floyd say to Margarito of "who has he fought?" Look at a hint reyno Margarito was offer 4 million dollars to fight Williams again but instead Margarito choose to fight Mosley for 2.5 million dollars. <<<You do the math.

Shane is the man. I miss his Lightweight days beating up on fighters at the Great Western Forum. If he would have stayed at 135, Mosley would be known as the greatest of all time at that weight class. Nothing against Oscar, but Mosley deserves a statue outside of Staples Center.

Yea and for that rematch that Williams offered it was years after he denied Marg the rematch, in which he put his belt and big money on the line. If Williams wanted him again then why immediately after the fight did he say he wouldn't give Marg a rematch, that he fully deserved in a very competitive fight. After Marg beats Cotto he finally said OK rematch now. Why wouldn't he give him the rematch huh a big fight with Quintana?

 

Williams never denied Margarito a rematch ... he offered Margarito the biggest purse of his career, only second to the purse that he made in the first Williams fight. There were problems with Al Haymond and the promotional rights that killed the chances of a rematch.

 

The only bigger fight than Mosley would be the winner of Pacman-Cotto.

 

In the ring and post press conference. They wanted nothing to do with that. They know what happened in the second half of that fight.

 

You're basing that on physical ability not on boxing ability. The same way that you think that Mayweather will trash Manny would be the same reason why he would trash Mosley. There isn't any doubt in my mind ... speed and power can't make up for boxing ability or lack there of, with Power and Speed that only give him a higher percentage to his "punchers" chance to win the fight. But I can look to the second fight with DLH to judge how a fight with Mayweather will go ... he couldn't find a target and down the stretch stopped throwing punches.

Floyd will out think and out smart Mosley when it all comes down to it ... I would rather see Floyd vs Cotto ... Mosley can have potential to produce a big money fight, but as far as it being competetive its not a question that he wouldn't step up to the plate. Shane is a power puncher w/ speed ... he's not a boxer ... he's not a slickster ... he's not a solid thinker making adjustments during the fight. He's just a guy who's fast and has power.

De la hoya was busy either singing or fighting at junior middleweight while Trinidad was busy fighting in middlweight for a tournament. Mosley was being way to greedy wanted 60/40 in his favor in the De la hoya 3rd fight so the only other big fight for Mosley is a Wright showdown for the undisputed junior middleweight championship. <<<So basically Mosley didn't have a choice to fight those 2 fighters. If Trinidad was available who you think Mosley will fight Trinidad or Forrest? If De la hoya lets say offer Mosley 50/50 split who you think Mosley will choose De la hoya 3rd fight or Wright for the undisputed championship? <<It's easily a no brainer reyno.
