i think oscar came so close to beating floyd that oscar of 2000 would have ko,d floyd ,he would not have tired as quickly had fater hands and would have caught floyds backpeddlin ass
Oscar came close simply off sheer determination, not boxing skills. I think Oscar's determination and will that night put him at least close to what he would have done in his prime, so had he been prime, the outcome wouldn't have been much different. Floyd did just enough to win that night, and had Oscar had more in him to make it more competitive, Floyd would have adjusted accordingly. Mayweather wins this one no matter the era.
theres an unbiased opinion. i think the floyd that fought oscar loses to a prime oscar. maybe not by ko as floyd is as good as it gets defensively. mayweather has had lots of time to become a real welter now. so if he can beat the best welters out there now then the outcome starts to become less predictable.
Floyd dec. I mean prime Oscar had power and was significantly quicker but no way in the world is he messing with Floyd period
Everyones entitled to their opinion, but here are some facts: 1. Oscar ALWAYS fades in the last half of all of his big fights. Its his curse and has plagued him his entire career. it happened against Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins, and Floyd. The myth that he had better stamina in his prime years is just that...a myth. In his toughest challenges he would always get tired and find a way to choke away a victory in the end. 2. Floyd will ALWAYS be the superior fighter @ any weight, time, planet, or galaxy. 3. All things considered, theirs no way possible that Floyd should have won on May 5th, 2007. Compiled with his rare horrible performance in the ring, all of the intangibles were in Oscar's favor. Its a testament that he was able to still get the victory that night. Do we really count on that version of Floyd showing up in a prime match-up???
An old Oscar beat Void. Watch Void's head get knocked back over an over again. Oscar in his prime would would be too much for Void.
It was pretty close, so yeah, a prime Golden Boy takes a comfortable UD. He pretty much lost the rounds on his own. Mayweather didn't know what the heck was going on.
How in god's name did the old version of De La Hoya almost beat floyd, and canyone say the prime version not obviously win?
