Oh my god. Lopez wasn't just hurt, his legs were completely gone. He couldn't even walk barely. The fact he stayed up and seen it to the 12 is seriously amazing.
Fights like this provide a strong argument for returning to 15 round fights. If the championship rounds were still in place, Mtagwa might have been able to pull it out. In fact, he quite likely would have.
Lopez is the only fighter I've seen get credit for being battered around the ring and running from a journeyman.
That's because most fighter in that situation would have gotten knocked out. Lopez displayed great heart and despite showing obvious flaws, he did also show some virtues. It's funny you post this because I was just thinking that a lot people are trying to put Juanma down for this fight and seem to not be seeing (or ignoring) the full picture that while yes he fought the wrong fight, looked sloppy, almost got knocked out the dude truly showed a warriors heart. It really does go both ways. :good
me neither fully.. trying to get it online somehow.. btw.. who's in your av? she's hott as hell.. Looks like a side to Juanma i've never seen already..
People said the same thing about Cotto after his fights against Corley and Torres. Ive come to realize that young fighters deserve fights like this to show what they really have. And if they survive, they are better fighters because of it.
I don't think that Lopez should have fought moving backwards. Similar to Cotto I think he is better when he is the aggressor.
