I will not put Mayweather in ATG pantheon until he faces....

    Cotto, Pacquiao, and Mosley(Challenging Pavlik at 160)....He will never silence the critics. He just defeated the 2nd or 3rd best fighter in the world and people shitted on him. I am a boxing fan first and a Mayweather fan second.He came back becuz he knows his legacy is on the line these last 2-5 years he has left to fight. All these fights are winnable and a win over a huge middleweight Pavlik would make him a top 20 or even top 10 pound for pound fighter.

    Been a long time PS, have'nt seen you round these parts in a while. You've been a long time pbf loyalists on this forum, and a knowledgable analysts. I agree with your statement.

    I think he needs a Mosley or Cotto. I don't know if there is a possibility of a Williams fight nor do I believe he wins it.

    If DLH defeated Pac when they fought, people were gonna **** on DLH just the same. Almost nobody gave Pac a chance in that "circus act". It wasn't a fair fight to start with, so the criticism he's gettin had some basis. The rest i agree with you.

    hmmm. I've got Floyd beating the winner of Pac/Cotto in decent fashion, not as dominant as over Marquez of course, but after that there is Shane, and then there is Paul Williams. You know Floyd said he wants to be pretty active, (said something abou 3 fights a year in one interview:shock:) so these are all fights that can happen. Pavlik wouldn't do Floyd any good, just wouldn't in my opinion, PWill on the otherhand would be a great fight:good

    He doesn't need to goto 160 and beat Pavlik I dont care much about fighters jumping weight classes with Pacman its awesome but damn near no fighters have ever moved up in weight so sucessfully, I just want them to fight the best in their own weight class Mayweather is a great fighter but if he doesnt fight Mosley, Cotto, or Pac all guys I think he would beat well he will still be rembered as a great fighter but one that didn't really do that much worth mentioning after the Castillo rematch.

    thanks man, I havent been around becuase the posts and threads get reall redudant and posters dont base opinions off boxing knowledge or analyze fights, people are so biased. Im gonna anylyze my few on these fights.

    PBF versus Cotto.........Cotto is a very good fighter....power decent speed, technique and loads of heart. His body attack is the best in the business IMO. His only issue to me is his stamina. Not that he doesnt have great stamina justs that as he becomes more accustomed to fighting championship fights with very good fighters he will learn to pace himself. Floyd capitalizes on mistakes and is the ultimate ring general. Cotto loses a uniamous descsion. He isnt dynamic enough and fairly predictable and Floyd is too saavy to lose.

    PBF versus Mosley......long overdue. Mosley is a great athlete, great strength, speed, conditioning and still fast hands. Technically he isnt the type of fighter Mayweather is defensively or counterpunching. He will force Mayweather to fight a busier fight. Mayweather will take advantage of Mosley's pawing jab with overhand rights and show more strength than people give him credit for inside. As the fight progresses, Mosley will become easier to hit and Mayweather will win a close but clear descision

    PBF versus Pacquaio....Mayweathers advantage in technique ring generalship and size will give him the nod. He will fight more aggressively and he knows Pac-Man is not as effective on the backfoot or against counterpunchers. I could he him dropping PBF because his handspeed and Angles. Mayweather cleaner more precise punches give him a nod in split or majority descsion
    PBF VERSUS Pavlik.....Mayweather has the skills to defeat Pavlik but the size disparity may be too much. If Mayweather keeps his distance and earns Pavlik respect inside he can win. This is 50/50 fight...Pavlik is big busy strong and true hitter at 160. I see either Mayweather by descsion or Pavlik by stoppage or ko ala Jones-Tarver. I just dont see MAYWEATHER losing a desision at this rate. You have to knock him out

    Him fighting the names mentioned will be all anyone could ever ask of him. I'd have more respect if he fought those fights and lost them all than if he never fought them at all. He can beat Cotto, Pac, and Mosley. But all three have strong cases where they could possibly beat Floyd so they are valid matchups. This is where you prove true greatness....against fighters who have the ability to challenge and even possibly defeat you.

    I don't recommend Mayweather ever target Pavlik. Just because BHop boxed him silly, doesn't necessarily mean PBF could replicate that performance. BHop is far bigger than Floyd and forced Kelly up out of his comfprtable weight class. While not a big puncher he still hits considerably harder than Floyd does and at least got Kelly's respect where he wasn't willing to get reckless, even when frustrated. Plus Kelly has every bit of Paul William's reach, a similar workrate, and power that has worn down and finished worldclass natural middleweights. If he weren't so much bigger I'd favor Floyd but the physics of the size difference(Kelly would land clean much but the punches would move Floyd. This fight would look similar to Taylor-Ouma but due to Floyd's skills not be so onesided. And there is a big question mark whether Floyd's chin could hold up like Ouma's when he gets tagged(and his body too for that matter...Kelly is a solid body puncher.
