It would not be a fair fight.

JMM maxed out at 130, and even at 135, he struggled against way past it Casa and light-hitting Juan Diaz.

JMM simply did not grow up in higher divisions. The more he gains weight, the slower he is and the mere fact that he is alreasdy 37 goes against him, basically very old in lighter divisions.

No offense against JMM but obviously he has slowed down considerably.

Let me put it in perspective : Hatton, who basically fights very predictably that you could see him about to throw a punch, mactually outperformed JMM gainst Mayweather (with the exception of the outcome of course) because Hatton won more rounds against Mayweather than JMM in the entire 12 rounds. This is not a case of difference of styles because Hatton asically is a crude form of a slugger, pressure fighter. Even Campbell was more impressive against Juan Diaz barring of course the KO outcome.

I simply can not understand why people are not seeing the deterioration in JMM's skillset. The JMM who fought Pac is entirely different from the current JMM, erstwhile, the Pac that fought JMM is not the same one that fought JMM. They say that fighters reach a maximum prime at around 28-30 years old as a general rule, because that is the point where you already gained knoweledge and experience figting while your skillset are stiull intact. Past it and all you have is the experience or ring savvy.

If prime JMM had trouble dealing with a one-handed Pac, then a past prime JMM would definitely have trouble with a two-handed Pac who is still in his prime.

Not taking anything from JMM because this fight is not fair just as the Mayweather fight was

The highlighted are some of the very things said about JMM after Marquez fought MAB and Pac then almost pitched a shutout against the same MAB.......

Marquez taking chances, and having to become more aggressive in his approach to land big fights, was for that reason hit more by MAB than Pacquiao was by the same MAB.........
.....all of sudden in forums like this it was being said JMM had grown old, and that Pacquiao in outboxing MAB was also getting better technically.......

I dont need to tell you what happened after all this was said and then JMM vs Pacquiao 2 took place........
    Schools in session!!!:bbb:yep

......you're just repeating the same **** that was said right before the JMM-Pacquiao rematch....the same reasons given then thats being given now, on why Pac should win.:lol::lol:

IF a third fight happen to come again, same thing all over again for poor Pac.........
    Schools in session!!!:bbb:bbb:bbb:yep

I'm sure he would......same fight type......same ridiculous decision.

I think its fair to say JMM need a KO to have an actual chance to get his hands raised.

He needs to stay in his feet for 12 rounds. 4 knockdowns in 2 fights is what cost him the W.

I have been repeating this when the Mayweather-JMM fight was announced, so stop being a teacher because obviously you will never be!!!!!

When will you remove your JMM glasses and see the real world as it is????

JMM is past it already and the fact that he is still winning is a testament to his tenacity and skills. But those were against fighters who never will, has beens. Of course, when it pertains to JMM, Divac will always say that he fought the stiffest opponents there is, namely Casa and Juan Diuaz.

You obviously have no idea what you are writing until you take off your JMM glasses.

    Facts :

    1. JMM is old.

    2. JMM ireflexes are not what they were even 2-3 years ago.

    3. JMM will never be a 140 pounder, regardless how you cut it..

I know you will dispute with your lengthy discourse of bull**** and nothing but air.

I will sound like a broken record because it is what it is really and you never even see it!!!! bAmazing!!! Last time I checked, you ssaid that JMM is still as close to where he is in terms of skillset and speed a when he fought Pac. Now, we differ in our opinions with regards to this and you are entitled to that opinion. I will highlight my opinion for you: JMM CONSIDERABLY SLOWED DOWN IN TERMS OF SPPED AND SKILL. Am I wrong????? In terms of who is right between the two of us, I think that tilts in my favor considerably, similar probably to the odds in the Mayweather-JMM odds.

No get it straight, 3 knockdowns in one fight and 1 knockdown in another......

......hillarious that *******s conveniently like to throw the number 4 around when in fact we're talking about 2 different fights.......

Marquez was knocked down three times in the first fight and went on to take 9 out of the next 11 rounds......

......In the rematch, he was knocked down once in the third round and by most people's accounts, even from his own Pinoy boxing analysts......Marquez took 8 of those rounds.

Seperate those knockdowns *******......we're talking about 2 different fights!:deal

Is that not exactly what he said? Did you not even read what you yourself quoted?

    ******* = delusional Pac fan.
Look at the poll homie, the Pac fans are hardly the ones suffering from lack of reality in this thread :good

I love how people love to throw that "*******" label around here on ESB. As if it strengthens their argument :nut

    Schools in session he say's..

mayweather was simpy too fast for jmm. of course, there was a big difference in skill/style as well that caused marquez a lot of issues, but the speed was definitely the main factor.

pac by wide UD including a few KD's.

I know we're talking about 2 different fights:patsch that's why i said 4 knockdowns in 2 fights. 3 kd in the first fight and 1 in the second fight. That was the difference in both fights.

Pac. Marquez is on the decline, while Pac I think is still peaking.

pac by mid to late KO. pac-jmm 1 and 2 were pretty close but that was more around jmm's natural weight and a slightly weight drained and green (compared to now) pac. 140 seems to be pac's natural weight now and he was able to carry his speed, if not his power (if you want to deny it) pretty well, unfortunately, the same thing can't be said about jmm.

at 135, one can argue that jmm is on par with pac, but pac seems to have something that jmm can never match... the ability to jump weights and still manage to retain his peak physical form and abilities. And i'm not even factoring in how much pac has improved post diaz since some people doesn't want to acknowledge it.

imo at this point of his career, it is safe to say that pac has already passed even prime jmm's level.

Pacquiao will KO him if they meet at 140 or above 135. Marquez was good at 130 but he is flat footed at 135. If you watched his fight at 135 with Casa and Diaz he took a lot of punches against them.
