You don't need to "hurt," a fighter to beat them, Cotto was outclassing Margo no doubt and Margo really is a tough mother ****er. We won't know until the fight actually comes.
Margarito doesn't have more power than Mosley ... Mosley is a power puncher by nature, its proven in his record ... he has a higher knockout ratio than Margarito ... also Margarito is an accumulation puncher and Mosley has more one punch power. Mosley can change a fight with one punch ... I also think that Margarito is a better boxer, he just doesn't have all the physical tools that Mosley has.
I disagree here, his form and technique aren't exactly up there... I see him more of a tough mother ****er who can brawl.
Watch the before the fight gets started. Bayless shows up on camera checking Cotto's gloves. So I think Kenny would also do the same for Margarito. Everyone has a bad night, and Cotto definately had a really realy bad night. That's just what it is, Cotto got handed a big plate of ***** please.
When Margo was fighting Mosley, his wraps were already signed off, it was Mosley's trainer who found the plaster, not the commission.
Simple analysis! Cotto punches had less effect on Margarito even cotto hit him with clean shots margarito continue to go forward and forward as if he bulldoze his way to victory lol margo was simply monster that night.
With as much bull**** as you post, I have a hard time finding myself to even want to read your posts.
Good point, Margo's assault on Cotto's body which begin in earnest around the second round is what did Cotto in later, not plaster hardening.
I agree with what most you say there boom, however i do think cottos face becoming so ****ed up isnt really natural, especially for a guy who went 6 rounds or so without getting hit too heavy too often. That being said... i love how so many people just assume margarito would win every time out against cotto. Will cotto always have trouble with someone like Margarito? yes indeed. But IMO, that was margaritos one win out of 10 hed get over cotto.... with a little more working on stamina during training camp, and how to conserve energy during the fight, and using it in the fight to help conserve his energy, a bit of tying up (im not a fan of having cotto becoming a clincher in the slightest but in this fight it would def help) and focus more on boxing by putting a bit less into his punches (putting so much into your shots like cotto did a lot drains you a lot more then not doing so) and he can easily box his ways to victory imo. Focus on the long haul.... and give up on trying to break margarito down or hurt him. Cotto 8-4 in the rematch.
In a rematch Cotto will destroy Margo. If he follows Mosley game plan it'll be lights out for Margs. I only say that because prior to his fight with Marg, Cotto WAS a devastating body puncher. Mosley used the body work with a good game plan when he would clinch Marg so he couldn't get anything off. If Cotto goes in with his old style of body first, Margs will be out the same way Mosley did him in.
A big decisive factor in this fight, something of course not mentioned by the HBO commentary since they had their heads up their fighter's ass, was the body work invested early in the fight; this is where Cotto failed and Margarito prevailed. Although Cotto was landing the more flashy, impressive type punches to the head, Margarito was landing the harder more wear you down punches while coming forward; as long he could continue to take Cotto's shots to the head, it was a matter of time before Cotto would tire out and allow Margarito to take control in the second half of the fight.
