How is Cotto going to avoid the best 1-2 combination in the business?

Mikkel sur gets my vote for the best one-two combination.

 

I don't think Pacquiao will even use the 1-2 combination much. He knows that everyone knows it is his strength, I think he will vary his punching to surprise Cotto. In Pac's last 3 fights he has been more experimental with his punching, and I think he is confident enough now to try and shock Cotto by hitting from all angles, to the body and head, in and out, jabbing and varying. Cotto may have drilled on defending against a fast one-two, but he simply does not have the defensive instincts to hold off the sheer speed and power of the full new Pacquiao artillery. i wouldn't say it will be easy cause timing and reach helps to get to your target and clotteyb is alot faster than what many people give him credit for

 

Really it's a lazy jab fallowed by the power strait left. More of a 1/2-2 than a 1-2

 

people are acting like its unstoppable. I would say a better 1-2 is probably Pavliks.
All u gotta do to neutralize Pacs 1-2 is duck under it as JMM did. Then after that the only thing Pac could do is try to engage since he was stronger and faster than JMM it would work but engaging wouldnt work with Cotto. I think Cotto will be ducking and turning to his left to avoid that 1-2.

If i was Freddy i would be working on uppercuts since i think that is Cottos weakeness.

Pac will def land that straight left. It will be countered soon after, as well
as Pac's other punches. That flick jab Pac throws will be neutralized by a
more powerful effective jab in Cotto's. Pac will be forced to fight a more predictable style as the fight progresses, and force him self into powerful Cotto counters. Roach or the ref will eventually stop the fight.

And the answer is to move his head and not be caught flat-footed.

This is the crux of the issue in my opinion.

Cotto can box well, pick Pacquiao off at times, but what happens when Pacquiao goes into crazy mode and starts reeling off the right-lefts one after the other?

Cotto has no real defence to this from what I've seen and I can see Pacquiao stopping him.
