Michael Grant, Gereld McClellan, David Tua, O'neill Bell, Michael Spinks, Paul Spadafora, Acelino Freitas, DeMarcus Corley, Fernando Vargas, the list can go on forever...
I do not agree with Spinks. He shined bright his entire Lightheavyweight career, although just not as exciting as the lightheavies before him(Qawi, Muhammad, Galindez) Bell was lucky his star did not fizzle out after the Dale Brown debacle. But it did after his loss to Mormeck in the rematch and his surprising quit against Adamek in what was his first fight at cruiserweight
Oh yeah, add to that Ike Ibeabuchi, Derrick Gainer, Audley Harrison, Iran Barkley, Ricardo Mayorga, Jermaine Taylor, Andrew Golota, Vernon Forrest, Nate Campbell, I'll try to think of some more.
I guess the way I see this thread is a reference to their once percieved greatness versus their career defining fights. Sorry but Spinks lost his career defining fight in 91 seconds.
Michael Spinks doesn't really belong on this list. He's an ATG. Leon, on the other hand, is more fitting.
You may be right when it comes to Leon. All of its subjective really, where you're from, what hype you heard, who you were in to, whatever. I'm just jotting down fighters I believed in that really fizzled.
Gabriel Ruelas looked like a special fighter before the Jimmy Garcia tragedy. He looked awesome against Leija and Libertore. Also cobrita gonzalez looked pretty awesome at feather after beating a still prime kevin kelley
Michael Nunn looked great early on in his title run at 160. Wins over Tate, Roldan, and of course the flattening of Kalambay. After that, his defenses were less impressive, then he lost to Toney. He did win a title at 168 but never really managed to fully regain his form.
yeah "chicken" bowe more so than ever, totally **** feared of Lennox not agree with meldrick taylor and michael spinks though
