Rick to me is a true Aussie warrior,he fought to a high standard wasn't afraid to travel and always looked in decent nick , lets hope he can stay off the **** and sort his life out . Good luck fella .
Tend to agree.....its hard getting close to the top and then its over with nothing to show. He can hold his head up high.....he won several aussie and regional titles. He sounds lost in the article but when he goes to fight nights he feels at home again with Noel. Maybe he's got to start training fighters and helping out Noel more and looking for some prospects....problem is its hard to pay the bills from that and he may need another job but it will get his head up again.
i read the article. it paints a sad picture, sure. and yes, the journo did get his impression accross..... but it was HIS impression. and it was wrong. firstly......the 'woman' had self harmed herself and ended up in hospital 13 times before rick met her......and was in a psyc unit 3 different times for a 6 month stretch each time.....BEFORE he met her. do you think she told him...? the reason police persued it was because they charged him and released the wrongful charges in the media with out looking at the 'womans' background. the police are afraid they are going to get sued.......but as stated in the article, rick already has solicitors fees to pay........id suggest a no win no pay solicitor rick. they will kick their ass..lets ****en hope so..... also....rick had the rib injury going INTO the mundine fight...what ? is the journo so stupid as to leave that out??? rick has more equity in his home than most people. rick isnt broke. he still smiles, laughs and jokes. anyone that has met him, likes him. rick is still a lovely, possitive bloke. he is a '6 month training camp' away from beating most of australias best light heavies or super middles. rick has great family support, many friends in gatton, and is still respected by the wider community. the journo was digging a hole. i suggest the journo jumps in it... all is not perfect with rick. but who can say their life is? like the rest of us, in 6 months we could have greatly improved lives. ricks greatest assett is his personality. he is a genuinely lovely bloke. he is an honest, funny, hardworking bugger, whom is great to be around. nothing has changed. his personality is intact. id prefer the company of rick to any other person on this forum.
I just felt the article meanders and is vague as ****. In the end it was a bit of a beat up. By comparison another Aussie great is in much worse shape.
Found this article on facebook, Ricky is one of the unsung heroes in Aussie Boxing a legend of the sport in this country, I thought it was a great article, really shows the lack of support in this country for our sport and it's past greats!
I used to love volitile unstable women, when they were good they were very very good , just don't nod off after . :nut
