No problem. Povetkin wants tune up fights and Wlad decided to fight against Chambers in March.

And now Povetkin is tired of waiting. I am tired of these bul**** from Sauerland.

Yes he become mandatory after he beat Chambers 2 years ago,
since then he was injured once and he NEVER again seriously
stated he is ready and willing to fight Wlad.

What was Wlad supposed to do in the meantime,
stay in shape and beg him for a fight?

The last thing the sport needs is another phony interim champ.

I like the fact that povetkin is going to be in a tough fight before wlad. See if his new trainer is working. Both fights interest me. Peter went 12 rounds with Wlad and has a wealth of experience toney twice, maskaev, mccline, and vitali. A guy with a rock chin who will make povetkin go the distance. He can hit so there is the risk of a ko. If peter can land we will find out if povetkin has a chin. Chambers is another interesting fight. Povetkin after getting beat up in the 1st two rounds dominated from the 3rd on. This win however to me was more of chambers stopping what he was doing then povetkin dazzling. Chambers in his last fight was in the greatest shape he has ever been in.. The most motivated I have ever seen and fought an agressive fight. He showed no mental lapses or lack of attack. could this thin agressive and confident eddie pull it off in a rematch. he had povetkins eye reddened and on the verge of swelling shut after two rounds. His faster jabs and crosses possed more popped and landed very easily in the two rounds eddie won. Povetkin is a volume puncher and is very agressive. If eddie can keep up the pace the entire fight we could have a good heavyweight scrap on our hands.

I just stated that it would be stupid to fight Wlad with short notice when you have mandatory title shot in pocket.
Never said anything what Wlad should or should not do.

Whether Povetkin should still be a mandatory challenger after all this time is different mater.

But anyways this really doesn’t change much for Wlad, so I don’t see this necessary a bad thing for division. We basically get extra top contender fight while Wlad is injured. (Except his purse will be lower when facing Interim champion. )

I really think Peters power was overrated. I mean he dropped Wlad with some rabbit punches but he couldnt take him out of there with legit face punches. He hasnt KOed anyone really good.

People got the idea he had huge power by watching his KOs over lesser fighters and by his stocky frame which looks menacing but he fails to deliver in big fights.

The split for the Champion is 65:35, it´s just about 10%.

IMO the IBF should Povetkin stripped off the mandatory because Povetkin refused to fight The Champion the second time!!

Wladimir will kick Povetkins Ass with the Interims-Belt or without! So you cares about this Interim....

    Wladimir is The Champion.

Povetkin should be able to win the IBF Interim title, but I think Chambers would rather fight Wladimir Klitschko for unified titles than for an Interim title to a man he already was beaten by.

I doubt Chambers will opt to fight Povetkin for considerably less money, the more likely scenario is Povetkin vs Peter for the interim belt.

    Exactly.

Peter is a fairly powerful puncher, but his strength probably under utilized. His physicial strenght greatly surpasses his skill and technique, with which to deliver power effectively.

Steward said he's the heaviest handed fighter in the division, just has delivery problems. I think Povetkin has 50/50 shot of beating a Peter under 240. Though we will find out about his chin, which I have a strong feeling is weak. He was matched up against light punchers who are similar size or smaller, so it will be nice to see big Sam Peter possibly bully him around a little bit and check his chin.

It will either be Povetkin decision win or a Peter early to mid round knockout. It would make for interesting fight and a possible Peter/Wlad rematch I would love to see.
