With all due respect for Once a Truely Great Boxer, but James was out boxed by Samuel muthafuka Peter went life and death Fresh Ogupago or what ever was name of that dude, enought said man...?!

Sometimes I am wondering are you JT fans somekind of sadistic fake fans or something only wanting to see Toney getting Beat down of his life against Klitschko Brothers?:?:think

I am a HUGE Toney fan, but this is a complete mismatch on so many levels it's just sad.

This may have been interesting at one time, maybe. But now it would be a farce.

'abysmal record'? Maybe Toneys record at HW is disappointing, but it's certainly not abysmal. He's had a roller coaster ride at HW. But he proved he can hang in there with the top fighers in the division, he faced a who is who at HW, except for the Klitschkos. Keep in mind he has no business at HW in the first place, because he's a short, fat and old MW.
Not beat anyone worth a crap? He has beat a past prime Holyfield (who arguably beat Valuev last year, but was robbed), he beat John Ruiz (which rightfully was declared a NC) and he beat Sam Peter in their first fight (but was robbed). I wonder why you're hating on Toney - I mean we all know you rate fighters based on their chin alone, and Toney has a proven granite chin.

He would do much worse and that's not even debatable. People always make it sound like the bad performance of Vitali's opponents doesn't have anything to do with their opponent. They looked like **** because Vitali just wouldn't let them touch him and they couldn't do anything about it. A fat, stationary, 40 year old, low workrate, no power midget like Toney would be a mismatch of epic proportions. :patsch

if toney were in his prime it definitely wouldve been a helluva fight, but toney is nothing now, VK would have a field day on toney. the only thing that would keep toney in the fight is his chin, and thats just about it, only prolonging the merciless thrashing vitali would inflict on him.

At only something like 5 foot 10, I doubt Vitali would fight Toney, as the size comparison at the staredown would be almost comedic.

well everybody knows that Sam Peter didn't prepare himself for the fight and Arreola was too green, very hyped and not that good in the first place. I'm not trying to diss Vitalis performance here, he's the best HW out here (with his little bro) and he would have beaten them at any rate, but that's just how it is. Gomez showed up motivated and somewhat in shape, and he gave Vitali a good fight as long as it lasted.

Listen, what I meant is that Sam Peter and Arreola were walking punching bags. If Toney faced Vitali now he might very well get beaten up, maybe even stopped, but no matter how faded he is, I just can't imagine he would do worse than Peter or Arreola did. I'm not saying Toney would give Vitali a hard fight, but he would most probably be more competitive than Arreola or Peter were - which is not a difficult thing to do in the first place, since Arreola and Peter were that bad. At the VERY, VERY worst, if James is indeed totally shot, he would be another punching bag, no worse than Arreola or Peter.

I wrote in another post on this thread that Toney-Vitali is not necessarily a good thing (for James). I also wrote that we Toney fans might see our favourite fighter get stopped for the first time in his career (and I don't want to see that). I always advocated that Toney vs. either Klitschko should only happen if Toney proves us that he has something left first - meaning he has to earn his shot by beating a couple real contenders, and look good doing so. But you know, Toney is a pro and a grown man, if he wants to face Vitali now then it's his choice - he knows the consequences.
