How many clean punches did Direll connect with? 10? While in other aspects he was holding, clinching, running and Froch was trying to push him off and punch him in clinches.

So Dirrell wasn't throwing combination and Froch did? So Dirrell didn't use his headmovement but Froch did? And who stunned who in the 11th round? It can't be Dirrell cause he was running right? lol. Please noob find another sport to watch.

Barely rocked? He rock badly in which he went back to the ropes look like a sitting duck but when Dirrell miss a shot, Froch cameback with another illegal rabbit punching that hurt Dirrell.

What you trying to say that Dirrell won the fight? If so i don't get it cause you thought Froch won the fight by a point.

I think Willie Pep did it just to see if he would win the round

Froch got hit with the cleaner, clearer punches and very rarely landed anything. The problem for Dirrell is, boxing in a style where you seem to be constantly attempting to avoid the pressure of your opponent will lose you points if you're not landing those clean shots regularly throughout the fight.

When you're fighting in such a style, you're giving up "Effective Aggression" - mostly because you have none. You're giving up "Ring Generalship" - because you're being bounced from corner to corner.

Also in a hometown fight, where the hometown fighter will be cheered for anything that goes close to landing, you've got to realise how important that dynamic is. It was the same in the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight.

Boxing, historically, has been considered pretty corrupt so I'm not sure an appeal to history is the appropriate approach.

Dirrell should have won. Doesn't matter if it was ugly, he did the better boxing when punches were being thrown. Walking forward does not and should not win fights if you can't make it count for anything. Froch was just as hopeless when he had Dirrell in the corner or on the ropes as he was when Dirrell was out of range. He did NOTHING whatsoever to win the fight, in any round, and didn't exactly fight clean himself.

did you read one of my previous post, I gave those rounds to dirrell when he stunned froch...but the 10th was even because of the point deduction, the froch jab did at times stop the onslaught of the offense being mounted by dirrell at times, and froch used it to back dirrell in the corners and dirrell's biggest mistake was sitting on the ropes..I have no problems with moving around the ring, if he did that more, I would have given him the fight....stick and move....but when he went stationary is when froch landed IMO, yes it was sloppy but....a connect is a connect....

dirrell's best punch was the counter hook

Dirrell lost the fight by beating himself. He allowed too many close rounds by not engaging and ultimately, although it would have been a draw, the point deduction screwed him.

Looking around other boxing forums - ESB seems to be the only one that considers this a robbery. Most consider Dirrell unlucky but they realise no one really won this fight.

For me all dirrell had to do was stick and move more and he wins the fight, the 12th round IMO is a perfect example of this....he got lucky in the 11th were he engaged froch and got the better of him, but he tryed it again in the 12th and lost the round IMO....stick and move,andre....especially after I thought his countering faded late...

If I was Dirrell's trainer, I'd slap him upside the head after this fight.

He seemingly had every advantage over Froch.

He was the much faster fighter,
He found it easy to evade what was coming in,
He managed to hurt/wobble Froch a couple of times.

As you say, the 11th and 12th showed that if Dirrell was willing to commit more and put away the running around the ring in favour for trying to hit and then move, he'd have had this fight easily.

He really only has himself to blame here.

Most of the rounds that Dirrell won wasn't close. Most think it was close cause alot of holding and the way it did with the crowd being so loud. I didn't pay attention to the crowd. Dirrel landed way more with way more combination. <<And way more head movement. All Froch did is stalk landing 1 punch at a time with rabbit punching.

    I agree.

There are four rounds you cannot give to anyone else but Dirrell because in those rounds, he landed cleanly, he managed to evade anything from Froch and he even staggered Froch in a couple of them.

However, there are eight rounds that are up in the air and when you're constantly on the back foot and doing things like hit/clinch/hit/clinch you're not going to endear yourself to judges.

Keep in mind, due to that point deduction, Froch only needed six rounds. I have two rounds I could score clearly for Froch, leaving six in total that could have gone either way.

Generally when rounds could go either way? The aggressive fighter gets them.
