You make good points, but I was just answering your question regarding the fact that you claim the Klits get no press in the states because there white and not american.

Your right though, kids to younger adults do respond more to the animal rage Tyson displayed most in his comeback to the sport. Though I also look at like this, theres alot more poor people than there are rich. Tyson appealed to alot of people, but he also grew up in a bad neighborhood like alot people. So when he was angry and violent, he was kinda speaking for a good portion of the country.

It's very hard for the average american to relate to the Klits, there well spoken, have PHD's, and dont swear or express much anger or give the media anything to talk about. There is just no excitement there, and that is why part of the reason Lewis never got any credit until later in his career. The guy had no personality and was only mildly enertaining in the ring, similar to a Vitali. Wlad is far more boring than both of them, he's way too cautious for most people to appreciate his style of fighting.

Yeah, good points. I suppose it's a trait in humans that we want to see people like tyson being destructive and knocking the hell out of people. He was awesome. I still think that the media hypes black atheletes more though, regardless.

I suppose I am more like the Klitschkos myself, so I relate to them more.

You mean in europe not germany.. they must have some fans here because Vitaly's fight was the highest rated hbo boxing broadcast this year.. and no it wasnt mayweather because Dan Rafael already said there was an increase in viewership after the replay not a decrease.

I do agree to an extent, but there are alot of white athletes who get hyped just as much. In football, you couldn't turn on the TV last year with out hearing about Farve this, and Farve that. Soccer, you have David Beckham who seems to get more press than any other soccer player I know. So I think it really does go both ways, we can both come up with different examples to support either arguement.

See, there you go. You may be able to relate to the Klits more because of where you grew up/financial status and how you were raised. Tyson spoke for more people, so in return more people watched him fight. Though there are many other aspects that made Tyson the icon he is, but this is just part of the reason.

Thats true, but you must also take into consideration that the Latino's make up over 20% of America's 300,000,000 + population. As we all know, Latino's are very passionate fans when it comes to there fighters. So I think it's safe to say Arreola was the main reason why HBO did such high numbers. Vitali's last fight before Arreola did horrible numbers, when he fought Gomez. :deal

I realize that. But it does take physical strength as a foundation in order to build upon that with technique and skiill, in order to have knockout power.

We all realize its not all strength.

Fair enough, but you made it seem like strength trumps ever other attribute a fighter may have. Ali wasn't even close to being as strong as Liston or Foreman, but who the end was knocked when the smoke cleared?

Wlad and his brother are knocking out guys that would be in Louis' bum of the month club, 90% there oppenents consist of either fat sluggers with a comparable skill level of a Charlie Zelenoff or undersized fighters with no chance in hell of getting under the Klits jab because they either lack chin, power or the balls to go after the Klits.
