They were both ringside at the AA JT fight last night Was it just me or did they look pretty simmilar in height. It was clear Valuev was much much bigger but there seemed to be only about 8 inchs between them Cant find the pic to show you my point but im sure if you saw it youd think the same thing
kessler's about 3-4 inches shorter than me. maybe he grew in stature watching the fight..but thats about it......
"only" 8 inches would make him 6'9 as Kessler is 6'1. Valuev's height is overblown, he is listed as 7'1 I think but was measured years ago on German TV at 6'11. His reach is also short considering his height at 85". Micheal Grant at 6'6 has 86" reach, Paul Williams at 6'2 has 82" reach. Hs looks so big because of his weight over 300 lbs. Haye sparred with Julius Long who is taller than Valuev by 1 to 2 inches and with much longer reach.
i notcied that aswell. valuev was much bigger but he didnt seem THAT big. i think we are so into boxing every inch counts but in everyday life people arnt that big. last night a few people said that at the weigh in abe looked tiny but in the fight he seemed just as big jermain. calzaghe jones was also pretty similar. i remember thinking they were about the same but calzaghe looked a good fraction bigger.
oh yeah you must have missed the bit where the camera panned down and showed Kessler was standing on Danny Devito's shoulders.
Did any of you see that fat guy seated behind Valuev. He was almost ringside and didn't see any boxing that night
