Prior to last night I remember alot of the Froch groupies saying Froch would KO Bute. Still feel that way?
Dirrell was the absolute worst possible style match up for Froch and he still sneaked the win. It could've gone either way and so a SD for the champion was an OK result. I think many fighters would have trouble with a tall switch-hitting counter-puncher who switches side to side and literally runs around the ring to avoid engagement. It's harsh to judge Froch on that performance as basically anyone else he fights in his career will be more well suited to him then Dirrell and will actually engage with him.
With Froch, nevermind Dirrell, its easy to see that a good boxer with a good dose of stamina will always come out on top against him !
Hard to say, they both have issues. But I think Bute would win comfortably, because he is way more technically sound.
Until further evidence, I still rate Bute as the 2nd best SM in the world. Maybe he'll come unstuck against Andrade in the rematch or maybe Ward will upset the odds against Kessler. I favoured Bute before last night and still favour him to beat Froch.
Pascal the current LHW champ....he had power and a **** load of stamina, what happened. Oh yea froch won UD. Honestly the guy meets his stylistic nightmare e.g speedy fighter who can switch hit and people are saying he ****. Get a grip.
Bute would box Froch's ears off. Froch would be lucky to win 2 rounds. No matter whether the fight is in Nottingham or elsewhere. Bute also does his fair share of moving backwards, but unlike Dirrell, he throws punches when he does so. Before the tournament I was of the mind that Kessler and Bute are a class above everyone else at the weight, and nothing has happened to change my mind.
Froch has a decent chance against anyone who doesn't just run and spoil. Dirrell gave one of the biggest running and spoiling performances I've ever seen in a title fight. A fighter who initiates and engages with Froch will be playing into his ground a bit more and give him opportunities to land. If Bute was as elusive as Dirrell then he wouldn't have been absolutely smashed to the floor in the last round v Andrade and received a dodgy ref count to have had to have saved him.
I agree that Froch has a dcent chance against anyone in most of any conditions but... Bute's just as elusive as Dirrell, besides Froch doesn't put nearly as much poressure or is as relentless as Andrade,I was actually surprised how much he left Dirrell of the hook last night. Froch lets you think in there,he'd get hit way to much.
Pascal isn't a 6'2 super middleweight with god handspeed, throws in combinations, god movement and can hurt you to the body... Bute does to Froch what he did to Andrade, but worse...
