Froch Supporters should admit it

I´ve seen some very respected american boxing experts judging it a close victory for Froch.
I had Dirrell winning it by a small margin, but it was a very close fight I think and you must remember that Dirrell had a point deducted.

I'm not European. I'm a fan of Dirrell's talent, I picked him to win the whole thing, there's nobody in the tournament that he shouldn't easily beat if he was willing to fight them. The problem is he's not.

The way Dirrell fought is shameful, he deserved that loss. He was lunging and holding like John Ruiz. Until he learns to punish the other guy stepping forward or learns how to keep moving without holding, **** him. In terms of who hit who hardest, that was a close fight. In terms of aggression, it was a wipeout by Froch. Dirrell didn't lose that fight, he gave it away.

 

:good its definetely not a crowd pleasing style...but i liked the last 3 rounds I think he did really well in those rounds.

yep, he gave ground and made Froch pay for every step. Had he fought the entire fight that way we wouldn't have been having this discussion because Froch would have been out of there before the bell rang for the 8th.

 

I agree...I think he was scared of using too much energy early on, coz he never had gone 12 rounds before.

 

The biggest thing we as boxing fans (not Froch or Dirrell fans) can take away from this fight is that neither is a top 3 fighter at 168. Kessler, Abraham, Bute and even possibly Andrade are better fighters than these two. Dirrell has good hand speed, and obviously good foot speed, but not the smarts or heart to be a great fighter. Froch has decent power, good heart, suspect chin and EXTEMELY slow hand and foot speed to be a great fighter.

In the end neither of these two will factor into the final decision of the Super Six, much less be the 168 ruler for any period of time.

Last night was a competitive yet extemely ugly fight. The blueprint was laid down by Dirrell on how to beat Froch (lateral movement, counter Froch coming in) and Froch showed how to beat Dirrell (pressure and activity alone will beat him because he doesn't want to engage).

Some people say that it was a learning experience for Dirrell, but I disagree. This is how he fights. Just look at the Stevens fight to see that his backup plan is always to not move laterally, but actually run and then hold at all costs. He just doesn't seem to have the mentality of a warrior of the highest level.

Froch will not improve either, simply because you can't learn handspeed, especially at age 32. To make up for his lack of handspeed, he has to leave himself open defensively, and he just doesn't have the chin to do that against the elite.

 

Froch has a punchers chance against anyone in the tournament, he did look **** last night. Dirrell has no chance, AA and Kessler wont let the pressure of like Foch did. Im seeing a Abraham Kessler final.

 

To be fair Froch was not in with the elite, but i agree that he would be out of his depth with anyone else at the top of the SM division.

 

Was Dirrell's availability the only factor (asides tv and the other ugly politics) his way in to the super six. Taylor will kick Dirrells ass!

I'm a big Froch fan but Dirrell won that fight.
