Even though he was jobbed. Everyone was saying how Froch would walk right through him, how he'd **** himself infront of the crowd. But he showed what a talent he is, and what a talent he will be one day.

I agree, he was 3 to 1 dog coming into the fight and many people think he won

Well I didn't know much about Dirrell before this fight, but he has surprised my, I think he fought a smart fight, although some people thought he could have done more he still showed that even in his debut at this stage he's ready and determined. Even though he lost on two of the three judges' scorecards he was the true winner last night because he made froch look like very bad, and imo he was the fighter who backed his pre-fight comments up more so than than froch. The only thing I think Dirrell could have done diffirent was to be less catious about froch "bombs"... and focused on the fight a bit more than the bad referee

he forced froch to fight his fight all night. he did a great job in completely outclassing and neutralizing him.

big congrats to dirrell. he really showed what he was made of and should have that belt right now.

i do, however, wish he would have stood toe to toe with froch a little more. it was obvious that froch had nothing that dirrell couldn't handle and i get the feeling that if he would have traded with froch just a little bit more he would have had froch out of there within 10.

    True.

Coming in to the fight, I along with almost everyone else, thought Dirrell was going to struggle. Instead, he impressed me with his superior combinations, speed, accuracy and movement around the ring. He had Froch hitting nothing but air. I think he thoroughly deserved to come out with a victory, and I for one will now be supporting him in the super 6 tournamant.

Best of luck Dirrell, and well done for last nights display. I hope it serves as a boost for the remainder of the tournamant. :good

    He doesn't deserve congratulations.

I can understand people feel he won the fight, my first watch had him ahead easily too. But take into account that he was the far more able fighter in the ring, had so much more handspeed and an ability to hurt Froch yet did not engage frequently, often took rounds off and spent more time running on the back foot than any fighter sans Corey Spinks I've seen recently.

I can commiserate with him feeling like he went close, but he has no one but himself to blame for not capitalising on the advantages he had in the ring to be dominant in his performance.

Congratulations on a brilliant victory Andre Dirrell. Though your victory will count as a mark in the loss column and will leave you with 0 points in the tournament, us fans saw what we saw....a boxing clinic. Your stock has risen. You are on your way up while Froch is on his way down.

Doesnt matter. If he is counter well and workign his jab effective off the back foot, you give him the rounds regardless. He was in there with a vastly inferior fighter, but he was still concerned with Frochs power and played it safe from rounds 1-9 racking up points by staying on the outside and out precisioning Froch. Dont tell me you think Froch was actually landing more then Dirrell in this fight.

You dont give the other fighter points because he's not getting dominated as much as you think he should. There is really no reason to score this fight for Froch.
