Tszyu Cotto Hatton Mayweather Other For me it comes down between Tszyu and Hatton....Mayweather didnt stay at 140, and cotto has a solid body of work at 140 as well
hatton hung in there for a good period, he beat the man when he beat tszyu, he should not be judged by his losses to PBF and pacquio...although he did looked bad against pacman you could say the same thing about Duran losses especially against hearns and he is considered an all time great...hatton very good champ just not elite like PBF and Pacquio.
I went with hatton for his reign, and tszyu's longevity is not all that great to be honest.....I'm the minority opinion but I think the bully prime hatton gives prime tszyu hell as well, hatton never lost to a vince phillips callibre fighter...
Should be Hatton, he had the better reign at the weight than the others. He came up short against Floyd and Pac who are obviously above his level but those losses did not take away his achievements at LWW.
Hatton is no.1, Cotto and Mayweather werent at light welter for long enougth to be best of the decade
Being a light welterweight champ for a decade isn't enough for you? Hatton was garbage. He and his flunky did a job on Tszyu that night in a very close fight where Hatton was knocked down with a body shot. That wasn't boxing it was 99% holding and rabbit punching. With a proper ref that Tszyu knocks out Hatton in 6 rounds. Prime Tszyu does the job in 3. A protected fighter who went life and death with Tackie, "won" against Collazo, had to be saved by the ref in Manchester of all places against Lazcano and knocked out cold by Mayweather!!! and Pac. His only truly dominant victory against a boxer in his prime was Malignaggi. Says it all really. He was Carl Froch ver. 0.5 but with a huge fanbase.
