No way in hell it should count for a legitimate world championship.

It means nothing as far as titles. Now if he beat Adamek thats a different story, but this would just be a good win over a contender nothing more.

I respect the IBO a hell of a lot more than the WBA right now, to be honest.

To the public, probably not, but to the fighters, it means a lot more then people think.

it will mean nothing from 3 reasons :
    (1) the more important one : the man he will win against.
    (2) just another belt
    (3) what did he ever achieve at cw besides the ruiz fight ? he would get destroyed if he will face a legitimate cw contender like Guillermo Jones , Adamek , or even Cunningham.

It's the same as Hearns winning the WBU cruiser title - it doesn't count. Only one of the 4 majors count when claiming to be an "x" weight world champion.

What do you mean "at cw besides the ruiz fight"? That was for the WBA HW title.

If Jones can beat Green, it would be his best win since 2003. I do think it means something, not because of the IBO belt, but because it would show that even at about 60% of his best, he's still a world-class fighter.

You're spot on with your comments, brother...this is a very interesting fight and is unfortunately flying under the radar...Danny Green is a guy that has never actually hit the canvas despite being hurt numerous times. Green might actually be a harder puncher than John Ruiz at cruiserweight and is a very dangerous opponent for Roy at this time in his career. If he beats the always dangerous Danny Green, he deserves a lot of credit from his detractors.
