so after the first round, who you think would win between these two 'not much skilled' yet successful fighters?
I honestly would fear Froch getting hurt. Arthur is my favorite fighter and I could see him losing a point decision to Direll, but Froch's chin is to good for his own good against someone that hits as hard as AA.
Abraham by KO and he will make it look easy. I disagree with the notion that Abraham isn't skilled. He is an extremely effective fighter who makes it very difficult for an opponent to exploit weaknesses. Taylor never had such dull early rounds offensively and the reason was Abraham's air tight guard. He is like Winky Wright with power. Sure, he doesn't do a lot of textbook boxing stuff...becaue he doesn't need to. People who are looking for all the moves a boxer should display will always underestimate fighters like AA or Vitali Klitschko, who get the job done with a style that works perfectly for their body types.
I see a KO for AA.. but Froch likes this type of matchup.. so he has a chance.. even if it be a slim one..
I think if Dirrell could stun him late in the fight, and Taylor knocked him down, Abraham can land too. That usually isn't good for the opponents vertical positioning.
I'm a Froch fan but based on what I saw on Saturday night (I won't be watching the fight again!), I think Dirrell might have been able to KO Froch if he had sat down on his punches more and focused on power rather than moving around and spoiling. I don't know if Froch's punch resistance is deteriorating or it is simply the step up n class. i.e. accurate punchers. Nevertheless, Abraham has fast hands and Froch always takes a few to get one of his own in. If he take a few off Abraham I reckon he will be flat on his arse.
Froch is boxing very open and is willing to trade too much. Abraham might not be the most gifted boxing technician but he's damn good at exploiting weak defenses. Froch will likely be floored multiple times.
I don't know where you get off thinking that either fighter is not that skilled. PAc is not that skilled either as he utilizes his speed against inferior opposition while AA and Froch fight fighters of all ethnic backgrounds. I got AA by ko, but it is a hard fight for either man.
Abraham will shell up for 6 rounds and go after Froch in the last 6 if Froch hasn't been disqualified by then
