Look, if you think Dirrell won, good for you. I can definitely see that this argument could be made. However, an argument can be made he did not land enough punches to win, period. It's not like Froch did not connect at all. But I am not talking about that. I am talking about his pathetic running and grabbing Ruiz style, which does not belong in this tournament. Note that this fight was a stinker to watch. And Dirrell's style was the reason. The problem I have is that there are 4 more stinkers to watch because of this guy.
Thanks for in depth analysis. If you have anything of value to add, let me know. Just to put this plainly, so even someone as limited as you would understand, think of this whole tournament as bucket of honey. Honey you've been waiting for years for, something that many people want to consume and enjoy. Now take a little spoon of feces and put into that bucket of honey. Now you know what effect Dirrell with his holding and running style has on this tournament.
The same could be said about that cack you just posted. Go and watch MMA or something and leave the boxing talk to people who appreciate the sweet science because you dont have a clue about what that is. There is more to boxing than just slugfests. Boxers have to fight to their strengths so let me ask you a question, if you did not have power and you was fighting somebody who was a big banger how would you personally fight them? Would you A. Use superior boxing skills to frustrate your opponent whilst scoring points B. Just stand infront of him and fight his fight instead of your own fight The answer you choose to give will give us a better idea of whether your brain is switched on or not
As I said in my first post to this steaming pile of **** you call an opinion on Dirrell: ___________________________ If Dirrell doesn't belong in the tournament then what does that say about Froch? The man did literally nothing in this fight. ___________________________ Did Froch cut off the ring? No. Did Froch land a meaningful punch? No. Did Froch score anything when he had Dirrell cornered? No. Are you a flat out idiot? Yes.
Who landed the more clean power shots? At not point did Andre look ready to go, but he had Froch damn near out on his feet:deal. You are just looking for an excuse for the mini butterbean's wack ass performance. Froch gets KO's the rest of the tourney...he's a bum!
It is a difference between running and using the ring to your advantage. When he was right in front of Crotch, Crotch still couldn't hit him. He ducked all of those horrible looking shots...right in the corner! Froch is just a bum who can't box, has no footwork, and can't cut off the ring.
I wouldn't count JT out just yet. I rooted for him too, and I think he can go far in the tournament. First of all, until that brutal KO, I thought he held his own again the favorite Abraham. I had Abraham up, but only by a couple of points. It wan't an easy blowout. If Taylor were a little busier during first 6 rounds, threw more loping right hands, and didn't punch Arthur in the balls, he could have been up 5-1. Arthur didn't really do much entire first half of the fight. He had occasional flurries, but if Taylor went at him a bit more, he could have been up bug after first half. In the second half Abraham was much better, but still I just didn't see the domination that the commentators were talking about. Yeah, he landed a bit more of good punches, but outside of one round where he stunned JT, these were tough rounds... before 12th of course. I am not saying JT will beat him if they meet again, but he will have a shot. And I think JT has a shot against all other guys too. He almost beat Froch already. And probably beat Dirrell too. And Kessler and Ward are winnable fights too. He still has a very good shot at at least semifinal, and then who knows... I am looking forward to his next fight.
I know a snooze fest when I see one though. This was, thanks to the "sweet scientist" Dirrell. And by the way, it did look like MMA out there when Dirrell was constantly hugging and holding and falling on the floor.
Not surprisingly, your comprehension skills are even more frail than your lacking intelligence. I thought an example of bucket of honey and spoon of **** is something that even an imbecile could understand, but you proved me wrong. Let me give it another shot. I am not saying Froch is a great boxer. Or that Dirrell is poor boxer. What I am saying is that Dirrell's style of running, falling, and hugging all the time makes for unwatchable boring fights, which are disgracing a great event, and for that reason, he shouldn't be in the tournament. Hence, the spoon of **** (Dirrell's style) in the bucket of honey (super 6 tournament). Read this several times, you might be able to get it eventually.
I agree.Had this been a six rounder on a small hall British show he'd definately have been DQ'd, not for running like Carl Lewis, but for persistant holding. Because it was a high profile fight he wasn't DQ'd. I'm not saying he should have stood toe to toe with Froch, but he went to the opposite extreme. This is meant to be a FIGHT after all. Dirrell had the tools to win, but lacked the heart. Basically he blew it
I agree with you...first of all I don´t give a rats ass about who won the fight. I scored it 114-113 for Dirrell...but he really destroyed that fight by constant going for the clinch each time Froch came close or simply running away. It sure wasn´t pretty, and I have a problem understanding if people who call themselves fans of boxing, really can apreaciate this kind of boxing-style. I personally think its a disgrace for the sport. I can understand if a bad boxer tries to use such a style against a better opponent, but Dirrell is no bad boxer.
Starting to fold? The best rounds of the fight, and Dirrell's best rounds, were the last 3. How does that imply that he was folding? Froch was the one looking pressured, frustrated, and without answers for the whole fight. Abraham is a counterpuncher who will put even less pressure on Dirrell than Froch, whose pressure was completely ineffective. Not to say that Dirrell beats Abraham, because I don't think he does, but at not point did he look like he was "folding" under pressure. What a stupid comment.
