He needs the kind of opposition that Lewis had , and beat them all, like lewis did..
Vitali hasnt fought anything remotely to Lewis opposition.

In 20 years time he will be mentioned among guys like Dokes, Page and Leon Spinks.

    No.

Given the opposition that is available, that will remain the case.

Even if he had beaten Lewis, it would still be debatable.

Why doesn't he fight his brother ?

He's not even number 1 in his own family for ****'s sake.

    Nope.

The fact that posters are only 50/50 on this should be enough to leave him out of the ATG list.

I voted yes for those reasons and the fact that came out of a 4 year retirement without a tuneup & knocked out the WBC HW Champion, Sam Peter who had never been knocked out before. He's also one half of the first brothers to ever hold hold part of the HW championship simultaneously.

At this point in time no. He failed in his biggest challenge and his opposition has been subpar.

Nope....not even close. His competition level doesnt compare to past champions. His title winning fight was over a hit wonder Sanders who was never any good, underachiever Johnson, and others. He is a very good tough fighter but doesnt have the resume. His brother is closer to being an all-time great IMO.

:patschIf Vitali KO'd Sam Peter then Chris Byrd KO'd Vitali. That's fine with me if that's how you want to put it,but I constantly read people saying 'Vitali has only lost on injuries'.Which one is it?
