styles make fights, and Dirrell is too slick to get caught by those bombs from Abraham. In addition, Andre will be more desperate to win this fight than Abraham would since Dirrell has no wins in the tournament right now. I see Dirrell outpointing Abraham in the US.
I agree. Dirrell much less predictable than Taylor, and much faster at this stage of his career. He has the head movement and ring generalship (albeit crude) to avoid getting hit with the wild stuff AA throws. He'll get in and pepper AA, and get out. AA maybe better than Froch, but the only real reason Froch didn't get shut out was because he's a constant pressure fighter who could force Dirrell to engage at some points, and managed to land a bit. AA is far too inactive to put any rounds in the bank against Dirrell. It's always possible Dirrell will get caught at some stage, but I don't see it happening and I think he'll take a UD.
I agree. But he can't score just punching against AA shell defense. He'll have to make AA miss and than counter. But he's definately able to do that with his handspeed.
Yes, he will pepper that air tight guard...how is speed going to help him to actually land shots? Abraham can be hit only when he opens up to attack, so an opponent has to be in the danger zone to do that.
If Dirrell comes to fight, he will get knocked out. If he comes to survive instead of trying to win he will lose a UD12, but he SHOULD be disqualified.
Honestly either one of two things happen's Dirrell runs and loses a UN or gets knocked out. Or Dirrell doesn't run as much and gets knocked out.
I am taking Abraham by stoppage. Abraham is more coordinated and mobile than Froch, and has faster hands and better power, plus a much better skill set. Dirrell cannot land with his jab as it is no better than Taylor's, and will have to get in closer to land. I expect Abraham to dig to Dirrell's body to slow down his running, and that will either set up a KO or Dirrell might quit as I do not think he has the intestinal fortitude to stay in a tough fight with Arthur.
------------------------------ Yes and to elaborate not only will he not chase Dirrell he will actually frustrate Direll. He will be patient, following Dirrel but without actualy throwing anything until Dirrel is in his range. Also, Dirrel wont be able to use his speedy jabs and cross overs because of Abrahams double fisted guard which Froch did not have. In fact I could even see Abraham almost frustrate dirrell and tricking Dirrell into trying to box him at some point rather then run around the ring because Dirrell will not have scored anything on Abrahams defense. Abrahm will score judges points on ring - generalship and being in control. If Dirrel was scared to trade with Froch he will be terrified of trading with Abraham. However as much as Abraham may outsmart the smart Dirrel I can't see him getting enough opportunity to land the big one. So for this reason I see Abrham most likely winning by UD but a small chance of winning ko.
Dirrell by decision, I think Dirrell Southpaw style may confuse Abraham and Abraham is open around the sides for shots to the body all night long and Dirrell has the speed to land those punches. Abraham is also open to uppecuts to split that peekaboo defense as he leaves alot of space up the centre and he also is open to straight punches if his opponent throws them lower so that the punch travels upwards but thrown from lower down. Abraham's work rate will work against him also and he only really fights in spurts and he can only land if his opponent is infront of him. I am yet to see him really cut off the ring and I feel that Abraham does not have the same bullying style as Froch did so I would have to say Dirrell by decision because Dirrell I feel would have learnt so much from that Froch fight. I also think that it was again Taylor's fault why he got caught in the 12th because in a fight like that there is no reason why you should get knocked out in the 12th with 14 seconds to go unless your sleeping or not concentrating. He has made that same mistake before so I think people are getting overhyped by Abraham. Abraham wont knock Dirrell out or even come close to doing it. I think Abraham will actually lose in a total shut out, 10-2 or something
How many times have we heard this? wasn't the same people saying that Froch was gonna knock Dirrell out and what happened, he nearly got knocked out himself. If Dirrell had no ring smarts then he would get KO'ed but he is smarter than that and he wont get knocked out because he doesn't make himself an easy target like Taylor did. Taylor always stands right infront of his opponents and that's why he gets hit. I think Froch is more consistent than Abraham with his offense and he kept coming forward bullying Dirrell but Abraham fights in spurts and then does nothing for a good while in the round then tries to steal the round again at the end. Dirrell will have his number. Dirrell by wide UD. Too many people getting happy because they witnessed a knockout, come on now. This is boxing, Dirrell is a boxer and Abraham has never seen anything like Dirrell before.
Dirrell who fought Froch on the last 3 rounds has a major chance of an upset ... the Dirrell who was running for his life would lose a UD .... I like Dirrell and he gained a fan in me on saturday but that was only for the skills he showed in the last few rounds and i am concerned his chin wouldnt stand up to a decent shot , hence the running and hugging appraoch !
