both Kevin Iole and Dan Rafael think Froch beat Dirrell

There are a few people saying Froch won.

It's crazy but they're still saying it.

 

Kevin Iole never suprises me!!!! He lost all credibility from me years ago!!!!

 

There are a couple of people that think Trinidad beat DLH, that Chavez pushed Whitaker close etc. Doesn't really mean much, especially when they were sitting ringside in the arena.

 

Kevin Iole always had something against black fighters win lose or draw!!!

 

I for one an not saying it was an easy fight. Froch's aggression made Dirrell have to work every minute of every round. However I think this is yet another example of a fighter getting rewarded for aggression with a false sense of effectiveness. Froch made the fight and took the fight to Dirrell. Was he as effective as Dirrell? No he wasn't. Dirrell made him miss and connected clean on far more of his punches. I'm tired of hearing aggression alone being criteria for winning a fight. What good is aggression if you're getting tagged coming in consistently?

The hometown disparity in referee discretion allowed Froch to get away with a throw and illegal blows but it was Dirrell who was penalized for holding.

This fight reminded me all too much of the Urango-Ben Rabah fight. Urango pressed the who fight with Ben Rabah on the backfoot. However Ben-Rabah was landing effective scoring blows all the while. Ultimately Urango got the decision simply for being the one coming forward.

Dan's scorecards are the worst, not a good thing to use his card as a point of reference

 

I can't understand how some people say it is mad not to score it for Froch. Everytime he touched Dirrell, even glancing blows Dirrell had to tie him up and looked hurt.

Dirrell landed the more accurate punches but he hurt Froch less than Froch hurt him in my opinion, also by holding on and "slipping" on the floor he stopped Froch being able to utilise his opportunities to land decent punches.

What Dirrell did was effective but not boxing, even Ruiz didn't "slip". A lot of people seem to be scoring the fight on the fact that Dirrell mostly avoided Froch, but when Froch caught him, Dirrell had to hold on and he also held on to stop Froch from catching him, which means Froch's aggression was more effective.

When Dirrell threw his fast flurries he caught Froch with eye catching punches but Froch, other than a couple of occasions didn't seem phased. I scored the fight for Dirrell, but I scored it very close and if it is a 50/50 round I always give it to the fighter I am not supporting so I know what the fighter I am supporting may need to do, so as to make sure of victory.
