He will never fight the next best in his era. That doesn't help his cause.

So, at what stage did he dominate the division?
Now, when Vitali came back and gave Peter (who gave Wlad fits) the worst beating in his life? Or before Vitali retired, when Wlad used to lose every third fight to the fighters like Sanders or Brewster?

You can make a case for the period Vitali was off. Just do not forget his "win" over otherwise mediocre TOS

He hasn't unified the title - nor attempted to do so.

He hasn't beaten the best competition available within his era.

He has been knocked the **** out three times - only one of those wins is avenged.

    -------

This doesn't count obviously - but he is, without question, the most boring consensus #1 heavyweight ever.

These threads give us Klitschko fan's bad names, and all the quotes FW ever needs:patsch:yep. He is not a top 10 yet, but he is 33, still fairly young and in his prime, and there are some good young up and coming HW's. It remains to be seen until he retires, thus its best and only fair to assess than.

Jack Dempsey got knocked out in 1 round, and it still didn't stop people 90 years later from knowing exactly who's being talked about when the name gets brought up and he's still got one of the biggest legacies the sport's ever seen. **** like that happens, and if people demand absolute perfection in even ATG fighters, they're going to have an empty cupboard to choose from.

Wlad's going to be one by the time it's all said and done.
