You have very good points my friend you have obviously watched a lot of tapes on SRR but i wud still say he is the most complete fighter ever. He cud box, he cud fight, he cud punch, he was fast and he cud take it if he had to. You can choose to disagree after all it is onlly an opinion. If floyd had more power and maybe committed himself more at times i wud have to say he wud be the most complete fighter ever in my opinion. But you cud say im biased

I disagree on SRR, but I respect your viewpoint. Of course SRR is a very valid choice for most complete fighter ever. He is probably the best fighter ever, and had no great weaknesses. :good I can't offer the same sentiment on Floyd though. I just don't rate single-punch pot-shotting at all, and that's what Floyd has done for the majority of his world title level career. Floyd has not proven to be a top class combination puncher, and for me a truly great fighter needs to have exceptional combination-punching ability. Floyd is a clear level or two below someone like Ray Leonard in my eyes, because combination punching is the essence of boxing, and Leonard proved in big fights he was superb at it, and Floyd has not proved likewise in his biggest fights. JMHO mate.

Floyd can combination punch as he used to do it down at super feather and at light welter but he just hasn't done it much recently. He has the ability to throw brilliant combinations, e.g. the gatti fight, R.I.P, but he chooses not to. That why i think if he had great power and let his hands go more he would be the most complete fighter. Though i respect your opinion, you do have a gud knowledge about boxing my friend:thumbsup
In all fairness, Gatti was not exactly elusive that night. I think most quicker, fresher fighters could have looked sensational against him. In Floyd's biggest fights (two against Castillo, one v Oscar, one v Hatton) he has not shown top class combination punching ability. His performance against Corrales was beyond reproach, but in his other biggest fights he has pot-shotted. It's just not a style I admire or enjoy. I think it would come up short against a truly elite opponent. Floyd has excellent skills in some areas, but he is not close to being the most complete fighter ever IMO. But I respect your opinion and it has been nice talking to you. :good
To be fair he did let his hands go in round 8 of hatton and cudnt miss him and against zab judah when he was pressuring him. I am just a huge fan so i will always defend the guy but i respect ur opinion and at least is knowledgable and not clouded with hate. I have to admit pal i really enjoyed talking to you and im looking forward to talkin to you again.
3 reasons why floyd is throwing single shots. 1) He is fighting better comp. Like marquez a sharp counter puncher would have almost zero opportunities to retailate. 2) He is protecting his record by taking less risk and doesn't leave himself open. 3) he is sharp and quick enough to break his opponents down with his single shots. He put his whole body into his str8 rights and leaps in with his left. Those are big shots and wears his opponents out over time. However his safety first approach allow his opponents to recover from a big clean flush shot.
RJJ with the chin of George Chuvalo. That would be the ultimate boxer. Not to say RJJ have a glass jaw, because he doesn't -- but if was Iron, would be something else.
