I must address the fact that there is a vicious rumor going around that Joe Louis would have beaten Vitali Klitschko in a head to head matchup. This absurd notion has resulted in the starting of a thread that has spanned over 75 pages already.

Let's set the record strait once and for all. Joe Louis isn't beating Vitali Klitschko, and there are no if's and's or but's about it. Vitali Klitschko is a modern day world class athlete who has excelled in both boxing and kickboxing at the world levels. He had an extremely successful amateur career and is a hulking specimen over Louis. He has additionally beaten men who came up in the exact same fashion that he did, while Louis fought smaller, weaker and lesser acheiving mediocrities who today would be viewed as cruiserweight journeyman. Yeah okay, he beat a giant circus clown named primo carnera and an oaf who just so happened to be the younger brother of Max Bear. Big deal. No one gave Michael Moorer credit for beating the **** out of Mike " the Giant " white did they? Of course not. Why? Because Mike White was a limited bum who had the misfortune of living and fighting 50 years past an era where he would have been viewed as an awesome force, a champion, a great, a legend, etc. It's all about perception.

Louis would not be able to casually pick out his shots and throw those " lightening fast combos " at will, the way that some delusional or unknowledgeable posters here think that he would so easily. The very notion is ridiculous to say the least. Tony Galento nearly had him down twice, Max Schmeling knocked him out, and journeyman Braddock had him down in the first. Why can't Klitschko do better..

We need to put the myth to rest.

It would be really lovely if, instead of posting in this troll's thread, we could keep the Vitali-Louis discussion in the other thread (which this idiot could just have easily posted this weirdness in) and let this thread drop.

I'm not a troll you anchovies' ****. And if you want to contribute something valuable then just do so by keeping your yap shut and staying off this thread, as you are clearly not worthy of an opinion.

Why a seperate thread again ? Guy is entitled to his opinion but starting another thread can appear to be a device to play a game ...

Christ, this topic has been beat to death.......... We must move on........... But I already went on record stating that I favor V.K. over Louis in a prime-time / head to head encounter......

Louis did fight and hammer several "Key" huge heavies like Abe Simon, Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera, but them dudes aren't / weren't even close to Klitschko in terms of ability and skill.....
