Jones tested positive once, but so did Hall during that test, which implies that the test was faulty. They were re-tested and Jones was clean, hence a big deal was never made of it.

 

Thanx for clearing that up cause there is a lot of false info sloating around on ESB which if not cleared up can become fact!!!!

 

So because one person presents you with his theory on what happened it suddenly becomes fact?

Im not saying he is wrong but damn do your own research into the subject and make up your own mind.

I can assure you I am not. Someone posted a link above. It caused a mild controversy a few years ago, but since the news was revealed years after the fact it didn't cause the stir that it otherwise would have.

 

For your imformation i did do my research!!!!! Also i am very familiar with Roy Jones career and never ever heard of STEROID use!!, but i gave the author of this thread the benefit of the doubt and asked him to post a link and he never responded!! Another poster posted a link that cleared it up and now you wanna acted as if I'm ignorant!!!

I think you should have channeled that energy towards the author for not posting a link!!!!

When questioned about his lack luster form in training Roy Jones seemed lost for words and so he should. This is his first bout since the new approved commissioned human growth hormone test is being used. Anthony Hall the former head of doping was newly re-appointed after being proven right in the James Toney case (See appendix 43) has demanded weekly tests for Testosterone and groth hormone for Roy Jones Jr.

Mr Hall has claimed and shown undeniable evidence of irregular testosterone levels in mr Roy Jones, who has claimed that it was suppliments that caused the ****e in his serum levels. Those claim have been squashed by male hormone experts who called them farsicle.

I caught up with Mr Hall during my stay in Las Vegas last week and he stated: "This is the first fight that we are able to put together a testing regime foolproof to any comebacks. Its the same regime mr Jones took part in back in 97 but this time it has a government seal on it, his lawyers or anybodies lawyers for that matter can contest." When pushed by his distain for Jones he added: " I and the rest of the Nevada and New York state know that he (Roy Jones) was using illegal means going into all of his fight from 1996 FACT." a loophole and good lawyers got him off." When i pushed Hall about the statements hes made he said: "Look its in black and white every fight since 1996 we tested his serum testosterone levels they were through the roof. Now those tests which are 99.9% accurate were called wrong i will be intrested to see how he performes in his next bout if his performance levels stay the same then i say hes still a cheat, but i have a feeling he (Roy Jones) will not be able to sustain the level of performance without using these hormones"

can you people get your facts straight please. Roy didn't take any steroids!!! AT ALL. What he did take was a medical supplement (sold at GNC!!) that contained androstenedione, a substance commonly found over the counter even up until 2004. He didn't use roids people, goodness grief.

 

Those quotes above do NOT come from the article "ROY JONES JR. IS IN DENIAL" and I cannot find any other source of information for them except another forum posting exactly what you pasted. I have never heard the accusation that he failed more than one test. Can you find any other evidence of this?


Edit: It appears to be a fake. I found the original article, which doesn't say all of that, and I also found the site that originated the 'extra' information. It's since been removed. The extra stuff is also horribly written. No person in authority is going to end a sentence with the word "FACT" like that.

I don't want to break forum rules so I'll just say that the original article comes from a place called Bragging Rights and the made up **** came from a place called Black Athlete.

Here are the facts as relayed by Jacob Hall, the person actually involved in the doping case (who just happens to sound like the made-up "Anthony Hall" from above):

1) Roy failed 1 test.
2) Roy claims it was Ripped Fuel. Hall says it's possible it could have been that, but he's obviously not an expert so his opinion doesn't mean anything anyway.
3) There was a second specimen but they didn't have the authority to test it. It was not tested.
4) Roy agreed to a deal that he would be tested in his next two fights and those tests would be submitted back to their commission. Roy passed both tests.
5) Roy also gave a charitable contribution to a local boxing club as part of the deal.

 

There both are still greats. Mosley tested positive when he was passed him prime, RJJ's case wasn't concrete.

 

If I remember correctly; Roy never actually took steroid, he tested positive, yes, but thats not proof you've taken them. He infact did prove he was taking an over the counter substance that made him test positive for certain performance enhancers.

The same way that taking medicinal grade ibuprofen makes you test positive for cannibis. And high-level flu medication given to immuno-compromised people makes you test positive for opiates.
