Hatton comeback 2010

He should fight Juan Diaz, its a good style for him, Diaz dont have any power and Hatton is a lot bigger. He will kick his ass.

That could set up a mega fight with JMM. JMM is too small for 147, he aint getting Pac 3 and there arent any other big fights for him out there besides malinaggi but that aint no where near as big as a Hatton fight.

 

He manages to make 140 everything despite ballooning up between fights. The weight thing isnt enough to discourage a JMM fight, there is too much money there, if need be they can do a stupid 142 catchweight or whatever. Why not JMM just did 144.

I just think he needs a win before taking on JMM to make it sell better. Thats why I think Juan Diaz would be good. Diaz will loose a rematch to Paulie and then the two of them can get together for their crossroads fight.


Oh there is Amir Kahn which would be marketable but warren aint going to have any of it.

There's a difference between losing a close decision and twitching on the canvas after only 2 rounds of work!

 

He's never been this big. He must be close to 14/15 stone the way he looks. It took him 12 weeks of intense conditioning to make 140 the last time against Pacquiao, and he came into the ring looking pretty spent, and that was when he was relatively in shape. No way he gets down to 140, and I'd expect he'd look like a zombie at 147 I'd imagine.

Hatton is nothing but another Glass Jawed British fighter. He should retire before he gets seriously hurt.

If he fights PBF again it will be the same result just quicker this time.

 

Hatton is going to come back in 2010. As you have all heard, he needs a big fight. Manny has been beaten more times than hatton yet he's still fighting, and there are tons of high class fighters above hatton's age that have had more losses than him, and they're still fighting. 2 losses against 2 of the best fighters in the world means nothing.

Plus the mayweather fight was unfair, simply due to hatton couldn't get inside due to the stupid referee picking sides, this did not happen in the paulie malignaggi fight, so that's why floyd and hatton need a rematch. Manny has had a lot of rematches so this is not new for high class fighters, and a hatton v floyd rematch would bring in more money than the floyd v manny fight, as their are more floyd fans than manny fans in the U.S. and as hatton has his army of fans behind him.

It is this stupid media mentality, that when a boxer get's beat, the retirement card always comes in. So bring on the rematch for 2010, and let boxers decide when they wish to retire, not the media.


Like others have said, its not becuase he lost to the 2 best fighters at that time, its becuase he got knocked into next week by both of them. Those 2 brutal KO's arent good for anybody.
A Mayweather Hatton rematch would get 0 excitement from me. We all know what will happen. Same thing that happened last time...just earlier in the fight. Hatton was still a undefeated fighter at the time so Floyd was careful...Pac showed what agressive speed does to him, so Floyd would just win again and box circles around him. The only attention it would get is from the Brits...and even some of them know he wouldnt come close again.

Disclaimer: I am not a Floyd fan at all. Also not a Pacamaniac either.

 

Against Mayweather he cracked his skull on the ring post. Take that out of the equation and he would have continued until the end for a points loss .

 

No two fighters are the same. People have differing life cycles. Manny's defeats came early in his career when he was still learning; therefore they served to help. Hatton however lost twice when he was at his peak, which revealed a horrible truth....even at his best he was, and never will be good enough to mix it in with the elite.

Mate I like Hatton too, I think he's a top bloke. But to think he deserves a shot at Mayweather again, well that's just pushing it. The referee was not the reason why he lost. Mayweather was.

maybe so that Hatton over trained for the Pac fight .. possible

but as for "no way" he can make 140, if that's true .. why bother fighting then?

as we've all heard Ricky say himself that he's too small for Welterweight.

 

Ricky's weight fluctuation has plenty to do with his somewhat lack of punch resistance. Medically speaking ones body needs time to adjust to new wieght sort of like breaking in a shoe so your footing is comfortable and balanced. It also didn't help that he was probably that he was highly inpatient when fighting by constantly lunging foward without regard thinking he can simply over power his opposition. Collazo exposed him in dramatic fashion by countering him to death using his aggression against him. I remember when there where talks of Hatton vs Cotto at 147lb and I thought he would suite well but then I remember reading an interview with Vince Phillips who fought Ricky and sparred Cotto and Vince said in dramatic fashion "Cotto would stomp Ricky out" and I thought damn I guess he would know better than I....I actually wouldn't mind seeing Ricky KTFO Khan but at this point Khan would box circles around him.

I don't think Ricky has a whole lot left, and by wanting to fight vs a big name he's trying to cash out.

**I agree regarding why Hatton's declined. as all the unhealthy eating and going that high in weight between fights cannot be the best thing in the world for him

hey Rico, does it always have to be a Glass Chin that causes a fighters downfall. You know Hatton has terrible defense, and getting hit the amount of times he does per fight will probably help to wear down that chin of his.
