Pavlik was VERY close to getting knocked out in the 2nd last night.

What would the Taylor haters and the Pavlik Nuthuggers be saying now if Taylor had been a bit more clinical in finishing Pavlik off right there and then?

While he won in impressive style and showed his awesome power, the guy is way too predictable and one-dimensional to be truely world class. If Taylor got his head together mentally and got a rematch I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor win a decision next time.

Sometimes it's a VERY fine line between winning and losing as was shown in this fight.

JT is not a very smart fighter, and I knew once Pavlik survived the onslaught, it was only a matter of time before JT was KO'ed.

I agree that people go over the top in their reactions. You are absolute **** when you lose, and an ATG when you win.

I can't see Taylor winning a rematch though. Now he's been hit I don't know whether he has it in him mentally.

Neither is good enough to move up to SMW.

As I said in another thread, if Taylor had finished Pavlik, there would be a slew of threads proclaiming Pavlik as an overhyped fraud.

You're right, there is a fine line between winning and losing. A less tough fighter might have been KO'd in round 2.
Ultimately, Kelly's will proved to be the difference.

The Taylor haters and Pavlik nuthuggers would be doing the same thing that the Pavlik haters and Taylor nuthuggers are doing now.

I agree. Some people act way too shrill and womanly because thier fighter won/lost. Calm down and look at the fight from an honest viewpoint.

yeah I think its kinda ironic considering had he been stopped in the second round there would have been a lot of people on this board with egg on there face and the rest would be vicously declaring that kelly just got shown to be the next lacy and that jermain is just way too good for him.

Everybody lets keep perspective. this was not an easy call. this was not an inevitability. it just went down the way it did and kelly is now the man.

I hope he doesn't forget the fact that he had to get off the canvas to win the title and that he's not some unbeatable monster.

Taylor fought the wrong fight, he should of boxed more instead of trying to go toe to toe with Pavlik. After that fight Im convinced Taylor will win the rematch.

    Hey, who's hugging who's nut?
Jermain Taylor got TFKO and you're STILL trying to keep warm under his scrotum.

Look at Pavlik's record, man. He has faced big punchers before and not only survived but knocked them out.
The man can take a shot.

Pavlik has been knocking guys out since 2004. No decisions since then. Just KO's. :good

Pavlik and Taylor came close do losing and did lose. They certainly showed flaws BUT in doing so elevated themself. A tough fight is generally going to win over a lot of people. Taylor has the respect he wants by losing. Twisted but thats boxing.

It makes no difference how predictable a fighter is if you can't do anything about. Everybody knew all about Pavlik's right hand, but even the No1 middleweght in the world could not do a thing about it.

I give them both tons of credit. Kelly for surviving and coming back and Jermain for admitting that he lost. I've always liked Jermain, last night he made too many mistakes. I'm not sure he would fare any better in a rematch.

Regardless of what becomes of Pavlik, he fulfulled his lifetime goal of becoming world champion.

I was watching the ref, id say Pavlik was a 'flurry' of punchs away from being stopped...but when he wasnt and he made the bell, i never felt like he was in danger from then on.

Hes a tough lad, got heart, determination and nice ability also, despite what some say. And his power rounds him off nicely.

Will be a great champion, the peoples champion

STFU. If Kessler and Calzaghe can put on this kind of performance then maybe they can claim to be boxing elites. Until then, there watered down bull**** resumes and there bull**** fans can suck a dick.
